I know of a kid around 18 who I see around who has a perpetual smile. I kind of wonder if he's on the spectrum. Not because of the smiling, but because of the overall way he acts/appears. He seems to be very well liked by all even though he seems quiet and somewhat distant. What stands out is he see...

Simply by wearing makeup, dressing well and having an ok hairstyle I can make people overlook my quirks or even make them think I'm cool. I have achieved the same thing by by dressing very similar to this: http://i.imgur.com/knrcccP.jpg I find by dressing stylishly quirky, people automatically seem...

I pull out my penis if I want to keep people entertained . Haha, good one - original :D Now you see I didn't get that or find it funny. It just seemed like an out of place comment. There are a lot of jokes and joking I don't get at all. Many people have tossed a joke at me and only received a deadp...

I really don't care what label fits the best. I'm neurologically messed up, that's for sure. That's really all I need to know. And I think I was given enough tests and examinations over the years to believe in my being diagnosed as autistic. But it really isn't that important to me. It's not like I ...

I have a few questions for those of you who are completely alone (no friends, family or significant other nearby).... 1). If you are able to tolerate being totally alone in the world, how do you cope with adversity? (I've always felt that this would be the single biggest challenge to face if I end ...

It would be interesting if someone who was familiar with autism saw it in me and pointed it out like, "you strike me as someone with autism". Which actually wouldn't bother me. But no one in the general public has ever directly told me I look autistic. However, I've been told I'm quiet, keep to myse...

I used to be quite the comedian and kept people in stitches all the time. I might have even been successful at performing stand up. Screw you NT's and your effortless ability to tell an amazing story... It's not exclusive to NT's. I can think of several comedians who are probably aspies. Andy Kaufma...

I could see someone calling someone else "Lennie" as a way of saying "idiot". There was a cartoon version of that and the "Lennie" character is often imitated to indicate someone is being stupid and inept "duh, which way did he go, George, which way did he go?" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs-Q0Jm...

Yeah I think most of us have a problem with the eye contact thing. It's really a matter of practice to where it becomes ingrained enough to where you do it without thinking about it. I guess I'm pretty good at it these days (by my standards at least) but it took many years to get there. I'm still no...

Anxiety reminds me a lot of a stomach virus. I deal with anxiety the same as I do with nausea. Deep breathing, rocking, pacing, listening to soothing music. Stuff like that. And since actual nausea / lack of apatite isn't always involved, maybe a nice bowl of ice cream. My anxiety has no rhyme or re...

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome in 2010. Is it called autism spectrum disorder now instead? Or am I still an "aspie" since I originally got that diagnosis? I read somewhere that if you have got the Asperger diagnosis, it will be called that and that only newly diagnosed people will have an...

I think most people have mixed emotions all the time, with one being dominant over the others. Like yesterday I had lousy sleep, so I basically felt lousy. But at the same time the day itself was a good day. So I had a nice day and was happy about that, but at the same time I felt crummy. I think th...
