Yeah haha, hate it. I don’t even miss social cues, I just never spot them at the right time.

It’s a problem. When I’m angry I’m ONLY angry and nothing else, so it kind of turns me into the worst version of myself. I get ashamed if not disgusted at the way I act when I’m angry but when I’m sad, say, I become completely passive as I can’t make myself angry enough to do anything. My anger has ...

It’s always been that way, and in many ways worse. I’m very glad to have been born today in spite of everything, even life a few decades ago sounds awful (especially for AS folk). I’m seriously worried about the climate situation though.

You’re far from alone in that.

I remember one study I read on aggression in autistic people - it said to the extent there was increased aggression it was explained by comorbidities such as adhd, and asd actually *reduced* the risk of aggression for those comorbities.

I’ve displayed very aggressive behaviour myself recently which I’m concerned about but this took place under pretty extreme circumstances and isn’t normal for me or for other AS adults I’ve met (and I have comorbid anxiety, adhd and sleep issues, asd is only part of the picture). In the past, when I...

It seems most people can just shrug it off as an annoyance but passive aggression is like nails on a chalkboard to me. Just one passive aggressive comment leaves me in a bad mood for hours afterwards. I don’t know why - it might be the dissonance between how a passive aggressive person presents them...

It's more annoying when people assume that just because I'm on the spectrum it means I'm not going to understand any metaphors. Like one time when I was at school I was talking to a therapist or something like that, and we were on the topic of shyness and she used the phrase "coming out of you...

For me anxiety isn’t that tangible of a feeling. I read about other people with anxiety having panic attacks and things like that, but I don’t find that relatable. I worry a lot, but I don’t worry about the same things most people do. I read about other people with anxiety and they just seem irratio...

I think people’s idea of what counts as ‘too much’ information is pretty arbitrary.

Not every autistic person has trouble with metaphors. To be honest it’s an annoying and over-prevalent mischaracterisation of autism. There are definitely autistic people who are like that but autism presents in many different ways.

Yeah I like watching clips from tv shows over and over again. There are clips I’ve watched too many times to count, even when I’ve never rewatched the whole episode.

I have issues with making my speech seem casual, it’s not such a problem in person but when texting or writing emails my writing can be too stilted and formal. I can change it but then it often swings in the other direction and seems overly blunt or childish. I don’t really know how to fix it.

Yes, same. I have a lot of difficulty putting thoughts into words. The stuff I say can be pretty incoherent and all over the place, especially when under stress.
