Many Star Trek writers drew inspiration from submarine warfare, particularly nuclear submarines, when developing stories or plot points. The original Star Trek series and later iterations, like Star Trek: The Next Generation, often used the dynamics of submarine combat as a metaphor for the battles ... |

My son used it heavily to pass senior (4th year) biology classes in college. I don’t think he could have gotten his degree without it.
I talked to my niece who was in medical school and she said she didn’t use it but a lot of her fellow medical students did. |

It sounds like you’ve been carrying a heavy burden for a long time, and it’s understandable to feel overwhelmed by the challenges you’ve faced. It’s important to distinguish between guilt and shame here: guilt is about feeling bad for something you’ve done, while shame is feeling like there’s someth... |

I can really relate to the brooding over missed opportunities and being treated differently from siblings. It’s tough when you feel like your potential wasn’t recognized or nurtured in the same way. It sounds like you've tried a lot of the typical strategies already, but I wonder if shifting your fo... |

Ricardo Montalban was great, but somehow he didn't really recreate his original character. Shatner was Shatner. The battle scenes in Wrath of Khan are so intense because they mix strategy with emotion. Watching Kirk and Khan outsmart each other in the Mutara Nebula, with the slow-paced, submarine-li... |

Hi Brenden, welcome to the forum! It’s awesome that you found your way here and are embracing being yourself—definitely not an easy thing to do, but I hope it brings you the connections you're looking for. I can relate to the love for retro-futuristic tech, especially the appeal of fixing things ins... |

Used to collect. Now I don't. Gave up collecting Barry Allen in the 80s when he "died". The book had been going down hill for a while, with writers who didn't know the history and bad art. Crisis came and the basically said "Wally is the Flash now" and I just gave up. I still lik... |

My brain is weird. I have trouble remembering names, dates, exact numbers, spelling. I remember vast numbers of other things. In history/social studies in grade school and high school (age about 10 to 16). I could recount whole stories and event and get all the names and dates wrong. Or just fuzzy g... |

Isa, At my son’s IEP meetings I used to say “I’m a nut and I read alot” to explain my weird in-depth knowledge about his dx (and potential dx). Sometimes I hyperfocus on reading up on this stuff and I have just enough science training from college that I can make some sense of the journal articles I... |

I don't have Bipolar Disorder but thanks for sharing the info. Got it. But renaeden is and renaeden replied a few back so it triggered the memory and I started info-dumping. Warning about L-dopa, it can cause manic or psychotic episodes. More is not always better. L-dopa (levodopa) is a precursor to dopamine and is commonly used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease to increase dopamine levels in the brain. However, its effects on dopamine can potentially contribute t... |
