Do you have sensory issues? Any stims? There's more to being on the spectrum than just the social piece. |

I'm sorry that you have to deal with a situation like this. The proof of your theory may well lie in an official autism diagnosis. Since I don't know if the psychologist would believe much else. It is natural for people on the spectrum to react very differently e.g. Not answering emotional questions... |

YES! My fingernail/fingers every pen in the house (my mom hides the good pens) straws both to help limit the flow when drinking and because it feels good. I've turned my tongue and lips every color of the rainbow from sores. My kindergarten teacher didn't like us using erasers (she wanted to see our... |

No, no online test invalidates official diagnosis which makes it incredibly frustrating to get diagnosed especially when you doubt yourself/ doctors doubt you. |

I meant to post this yesterday but the day got ahead of me. I'm biologically 16, emotionally probably 8, and sensory-wise maybe 5 but it's such a struggle because I'm intellectually in my 20's but the executive functioning difficulties make me seem less responsible than my 10 year old brother. Also ... |

The AQ isn't super accurate I would recommend a longer test the Aspie Quiz it's long and scores out of 200 or the RAADS-R |

Tom I eat the dandruff from my eyebrows, skin from my fingers as well as my fingernails, and occasionally my earwax. I'm not diagnosed either but now that I've started to tell my mom about everything I do not just the stuff that's visible she's starting to believe me. Nice to know others do this sor... |

Keep in mind that it's one study. Your daughter is still very young, if you're worried you could always take her to her pediatrician to get a professional opinion. At that age, the traits you're seeing could be due to any number of things. Is she babbling? Pointing? Meeting other milestones? No need... |

That's very interesting. Is it purely for the feel/texture? I know I personally have feelings of "love agression" with my family members I've never personally acted on it though. Perhaps some faux fur from the fabric store with a layer of silicone/rubber underneath would do the trick? |

^^ Yep, TOTALLY understandable----I would DEFINITELY go for it!! Although,as I've said, when actually *in* social situations I can be very talkactive to the point of being annoying. But I always feel my efforts are feigned in some way. Like I'm trying to fit in. It doesn't come naturally. The questi... |

Eye contact does not invalidate an ASD diagnosis. I too and more importantly many others who are officially diagnosed make eye contact it is for the most part a learned behavior but some enjoy it. Anxiety is often a comorbid of ASD. Also I for example want to major in Linguistics and have little pro... |
