I found an article about the health effects of hormone treatment: http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/827713 Also, kind of off topic, but isn't this weird? "At entry into the study (baseline), the most common comorbidity in both groups was depression, with a 24.9% incidence in MTF subjects and ... |

Trying it out sounds good in theory, but lots of afab (assigned female at birth) people can't pass as men without testosterone, no matter what they wear (I'm one of those), in which case there isn't really another way to experience it. As for testosterone, the permanent effects take a long time to s... |

Styrofoam rubbing against styrofoam, pencils on rough paper, and yeah, the kind of pop music they play in stores. Any group of people talking at once. |

Yes, I do. NT women have too many "social skills", by which I mean they are passive-aggressive phony backstabbers who treat me like crap because I don't know all their meaningless rules.
Aspie women are more genuine and therefore understandable. |

I would imagine they want to be anonymous. I'm more confused by the people who are open about their identities. |

I'm not saying the captain was right, but: "“I just kind of said, ‘You know what? Maybe after she has a meltdown and she’s crying and trying to scratch, then you’ll help us,'” Beegle told the station." This was incredibly stupid on her part. After 15 years this mom should realize that thre... |

There being no strong evidence of neanderthal DNA coming from Africa yet there are African-Americans people with autism I would tend to believe there is no correlation. And yet I find the Neanderthal Theory of Autism to be intriguing... Africans or African-Americans? Because most African-Americans ... |

Not usually. I do give them up eventually, though, and they get replaced by other interests - which makes it difficult to try to do the super aspie thing and make one of them into my "life's work".
I actually seem likely to give them up when they are easy, because I get bored. |

Did it ever occur to you that the same behavior is often interpreted differently in a woman than in a man?
I bet every woman is well aware of this. |

I checked "neither", but it is actually "both". I'm proud to see the world in ways NT's can't. I'm proud of having survived through some really hard times I experienced because I'm autistic, and of having remained an honest, fairly hopeful and well-intentioned person in spite of it. I'm embarrassed ... |

So how do you self reference then? Do you think of yourself as "mother", "company employee", "bank account holder"? Do you often think of yourself with hierarchy titles? I think of myself as a collection of experiences, memories and perspectives. A phrase like "I am a mother" or "I am an aspie" des... |
