I am terrible at this so I don't know how much help I can be. But I was told, for instance, and this was by a psychologist who is an expert in AS, that when you go into a roomful of people, like a party, you should scan the room to look for people who might be receptive to being talked to. Going up...

People I know aren't generally very accepting, unfortunately.

In school, I was the class scape goat even if there was no actual evidence against me. I remember we were told to never touch the "electric box" and I saw it was open one day. I told my teacher and she took away my recess becuase she thought I had opened it. My third grade teacher who got like a ph...

The girl you described with the pins isn't even worth your time. Try talking to classmates who seem to be outsiders or have the same interests as you. I've found its pretty much pointless to try and curb all my behaviors that make me wierd & just go with minimizing the bad ones & warning fr...

I am fed up of not fitting in and being labelled "weird". People say to me "try not acting so weird all the time" like it's just that easy. Tips on this site have really helped me in little ways, so I would like to hear more of your ideas on how to learn the skills that non-autistics know already. I...

I wasn't crazy about the film itself, I expected more of a romantic comedy, but there were actually very few comedic moments, basically all of which were in the trailer. So I got quite bored in parts of it. Addressing some things people have commented on so far: Where Beth's dad says all that stuff ...

Sunny and warm (and not too breezy because I hate when the wind blows my hair about cos I have long hair and I don't like tying it back). And I don't like clouds because they make the sun disappear.

I loved it, I did two weeks at the local council. I mostly did office work, but sometimes went to council meetings and stuff, and this one day was absolutely amazing because I got to meet a female rugby team from Kazakhstan who were coming for a tour of the town hall, and I got to speak to their int...

I don't remember, it would have been when I was really young (I was always allowed sips of alcoholic drinks, and over the past few years I've been allowed proper drinks). I remember my first cocktail (and the ones after it), last year on holiday in Turkey. I remember my first vodka as well (my dad w...

I'm not a parent, but I think you should explain to your son what caused the situation (him appearing to be pushing the girl out of the way) and that the girl's dad overreacted and had no right to be so rude about it. Otherwise he might carry on thinking it was all his fault while not knowing what h...

In Year 3 this girl told the teacher (who was also her mum) that I had tried to strangle her. I hadn't been near her. I was really upset and confused about why she thought I'd done this when I hadn't. The teacher told me off and when I said I hadn't done it, she was like, "Are you calling my daughte...
