This is a concept that started in the ADD/ADHD community that has spread into the ASD and general neurodivergent communities. I just found out about it, and felt that relief you get when you discover that something that you always thought was just you being weird has a NAME, and that other people ar... |

I'm 50-something, and my touch-related sensory issues, such as anything hot or wool, are unchanged since my earliest childhood memories, but some of the fragrances and flavors that were just unbearable my whole life have suddenly become perfectly fine for me over the past couple of years. What about... |

No. Because I didn't really have a good relationship with my family and I don't like looking at pictures of human beings, even if they are people I am close too. Do you like images of really attractive people, such as models or actors, or just no human faces at all? I like to look at hotties to a c... |

It's an interesting question because I've never felt the urge to display this sort of thing. Like Dear-one, I never really bonded with my family. I also tend to avoid photo opportunities. I do too! If I'm socially pressured into being in a group photo, I get in the back because I'm tall, and then r... |

I never bonded with my family, but I do think of them from time to time. To decorate one corner of the house I bought with an inheritance, I have an oil portrait of my mother as a single woman that she commissioned from a friend, along with a recent snapshot of her on her last fun flight. There are... |

I am an Aspie and I am also face blind. I have many family photographs hanging on the wall and some free standing. Most of these my wife (an NT) puts up. I don't mind them and actually enjoy them. I think it is a common custom among NTs to have photographs on display. On the other hand one of my sp... |

My parents have always had school photographs on display when we were kids, and now they have a few photographs of family on display. I like having photos of loved ones on display. I live with my boyfriend now and we have photos of us, and his kids, and his ex-wife's dog on display. Do you have pro... |

And if you do, is it because YOU want them there, or because other people who live there want them, or because your parents had them, or other people have them, and you just thought you were supposed to? I was just watching a movie, and consciously noticed that there were several "family photos... |

Thank you for all your replies so far; it really helps to know that people understand. ...I got lucky with an amazing therapist/counselor, whom I continued to see for a few years more. Her guidance helped me deal with a lot of issues, deal with my massive grief also, and get back into life again. I ... |

The past few years have contained the entire top 10 worst losses of my life. Even ONE loss, significantly less that any of these, has typically taken me several years to recover from, with a life that is otherwise going well. This time, I'm so burned out, so wrung dry, that I'm at an emotional stand... |

That's the part that drives me CRAZY, that they're so SURE that the beliefs they've gotten about me based on pure fantasy are true that they refuse to accept any facts or logic to the contrary. |

It happens to me periodically. No, lol, this happens in a home setting, when someone is too rude to just go around me and instead has to stand astride me to get to something on the other side of me. My husband does it all the time. |

I don't really mind people just walking by behind me, but for someone to stand behind me, especially right behind me where I can't see them, for any length of time will freak me out, especially if they're making noise. If someone stands astride me as I'm laying on the floor, that will freak me out F... |
