The only real difference is the level of content being provided. Pre-schoolers are rather notorious for having short attention spans. If such a slow paced program could appeal to them, there's no reason why a show for somewhat older kids couldn't prioritize the content. Being flashy is all well and...

^ Just because Mr. Rogers and Mr. Wizard were enjoyable and successful programs doesn’t mean that they would appeal to everyone . Mr. Rogers is for a younger demographic. Whatever the case may be, there’s nothing wrong with variety. Different things appeal to different people. We all have different...

He's an entertainer, his previous job had been on Almost Live! a regional sketch comedy show. I personally, which the show would have put less of an emphasis on being flashy and more on giving the science an emphasis. Right? In my opinion though, entertainment can sort of degrade science and I have...

It doesn't happen as much to me these days. I just decided that if I had a few lines in my head, that I'd just learn the rest of them. For the most part, if I complete the song, then I seem to be done with it for a bit.

I am skeptical of someone who presents themselves as a "science guy" in popular culture, from the outset. Oh come on, it's for a children's show about learning about science! He's since gone way beyond the children's show, but that's the origin of the name. And even if it wasn't he really...

I wish the victim's psychological status was also part of sentencing. What if the victim is NPD or ASPD or any other subgroup? What if they're autistic or had PTSD prior to the crime? I don't hear many people worry about that, or their rights. Yes, it is strange -- a travesty, really -- that some p...

I think you mean why do some people want status symbols. I'm sure many people don't. I'd be mortified to draw attention to myself or be seen in a flashy sports car. I don't follow trends or fashions or update my tech. Most people want them to some extent. It's part of what has driven advancement af...

Yep, although the reasons why some people want them more than others is probably a moderately interesting question.

It's OK. When I said I don't care where they go, I mean that. I mean that I trust the courts to make the right decision. If they belong in psych, I trust their judgment. If they belong in solitary, I trust that too. My only concern with offenders is that they don't reoffend. I wish the victim's psy...

From what I remember, the defense is tried in less than a percent of cases and it's rarely effective just due to the belief that all criminals have some degree of mental illness and being found not guilty by reason of insanity is getting off the hook for committing the crime. . I've never gotten ho...

Is it moral to punish and put people with Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Antisocial Personality Disorder with psychopathic features in jails or prisons instead of forensic correctional facilities? If they have committed jail-able offenses, then the answer is 'Yes'.  APD/NPD should never be co...

*hug* Have you been taking your meds recently? Thanks. I just realized I've been forgetting. I think that's why my psychiatrist dropped me. I'm terrible at sticking to them. it's a weird cycle. Like I take them and then I stop and the longer I stop, the more I don't want to. Honestly I'm stressed o...

If they are not medical institutions devoted to curing the inmates then they cant be called "hospitals" of any kind. Unless you want to radically revamp the whole US penal system to make them into psychiatric institutions. Yes, that is what my plan was, but by making them more humane and ...

Seattle is terrible, don't move here. The nearby cities are a lot better and you get most of the upsides. The population growth has been managed terribly and the political scene is a mess. The area just can't accommodate the population growth with the incompetent people that are managing it. And a ...

I think it’s typically a bit easier in college because there are lots of opportunities to meet new people/make new friends and you already have built-in things to talk about - classes, professors, stressful projects, midterms, etc. Yes, and it's also worth noting that only a very, very small portio...
