I pace and sometimes pace in circles. I like the way it feels and it's soothing. Drilling is also soothing to me like drills for sports like skiing or lap swimming or even drills in music like playing scales on the piano.

Do any of you display childlike behavior and speech during a meltdown? I do and its ruining my relationship because she just thinks I can control it and that its childish. Thanks No. And most girls or women don't want a boyfriend or husband who turns into a child when times get tough because they w...

Sometimes I do too. I have a little stuffed animal I hold as well. Guess it works kind of like a binky.

during a meltdown I suggested to hubby I was only capable of behaving like a 11year old - apparently I'm more like my toddler!

Sometimes I get stuck between the ages of 2 to 5 or 10 to 12 depending on what I am dealing with.

I get embarrassed about it sometimes and sometimes I can hide it but other times I can't. If I am in an emotional ...

I have hyperacusis. I'm also a musician and it's know to afflict musicians disproportionately too. I have itin spades--in fact it's bothering me right now, and I have earplugs in to help dampen certain frequencies. I've found taking generous doses of flaxseed oil lessens my symptoms, but some days ...

HELL YEAH! I have hypersensitive hearing, and a skewed frequency response. Even some sounds that seem outside of the area of human hearing hurt me. I HATE some sounds that SOME actually LIKE! Steve Sometimes sounds can cause me physical pain as well even if they are not particularly loud. I did not...

Yes, I definately have this, and this is more common in Aspies because most Aspies suffer with sensory issues. I suffer with Misophonia. I was SO stupidly afraid of the bell at school. I used to arrive to lessons late because of needing to avoid the bell. When I was in science the room had a bell i...

wait, this isn't normal? Agree, I think they put a name on something that is actually quite common and normal. Everyone I know has misophonia. No, this is not normal at all. Misophonic reactions are very severe to the point of causing suicidal and homicidal thoughts as a reaction to everyday sounds...

OK I have a question: I do not have misophonia and I am in no way suggesting that it is not real or that those who do have it do not suffer. But.... How do you react to the sound of your own chewing? Does it bother you less and if so why do you think that is? I wonder if it has to do with the pheno...

I am curious, does sitting down make you feel safer or more secure?

Hi I am brand new here. I was glad to find this forum and site because before I found you I thought I was the only person on the planet with my issues. I have Misophonia and a couple of other things as well. But this is so nice to see that other people know how I feel.
