goldfish, do you actually have any legit proof of your claims? And not from some pseudo-science website. I mean an honest, medical professional. Because when you keep going on about this "gut bacteria" and how chemicals and toxins cause Autism makes you sound like the nutcases who think v... |

Don't profess to know much about toxins, metals and their association with gut bacteria, but the environment now is manifestly different to when I was born 71 years ago, and I believe that I was Autistic at birth. There were no plastics with their Dioxins then. Accepted that in the UK we had pollut... |

This is utterly and completely ridiculous. Listen to the presentation. It's not focused AT ALL on the 50% ASD babies by 2025 statement. It's focused on the biochemical causes of the gut-brain issues that create the perfect storm for ASD symptoms via the cumulative compound effect of toxins, pathoge... |

I took it to mean that they meant hugs were warm, comforting, and pleasant.. like comfort food & desserts i.e. warm apple pie. Not in a literal sense, but as a comparison of pleasant feelings from each. |

I would if it were local (within a few hundred miles) or cheap to get to. (vegas lol) I would attend if those there were interested in discussing in person what I've shared on the forums about how I've managed to successfully treat and reduce my ASD symptoms. Otherwise I'm not really that interested... |

It's apparent that making this thread was a waste. Why? :? There's only so much people can describe a feeling for you. The best way to know what a hug feels like is to experience one. Go hug someone/get a hug, then you'll know for yourself. I got & gave a lot of hugs on Christmas eve and day. S... |

Oh for the love of, it's not always the goddamn gut bacteria that determines if someone is on the spectrum. Plus, this woman is a computer scientist, what does she know about Autism? That's like me knowing about farming when I'm a tech guy. This reminds me of how people say how many things give you... |

Speech from Dr. Seneff about all of these things. http://earthweareone.com/mit-researcher ... c-by-2025/ I just listened to her speech while reading the forums and news. There's an awful lot of good info in it about the various chemicals that affect gut bacteria & brain function. Yes, there's al... |

I hope I can hold down a job one day. The ASD helps me to understand myself better. But - let's face it - there probably isn't a huge market for depressed, autistic 40-somethings who haven't had a job for about 20 years. I'll wait and see how getting a place of my own goes first of all (I'm getting... |

I use slang, but I definitely have the ASD traits of having a formal vocabulary and articulate speech. Sometimes people ask me what my parents do for a living as they're expecting to hear doctor/lawyer/engineer/accountant etc - some sort of professional job - all due to the way I speak. It's rarely ... |

Currently employed and have declined a couple other job offers.. also have an open ended job offer should I ever want a change. I didn't used to have this going for me. I used to have a pretty spotty work history and long stretches of unemployment, but since I've gotten myself way healthier & ha... |

Hug FYI's: The hedgiest person I know is also on the spectrum. He hugs his family, friends, coworkers, regular customers at work etc. He once told me that I give the best hugs. I take that as a huge compliment seeing as he's a very very experienced hug giver/receiver. So, there you have it, if you w... |

Not me, but my cousin has one of the strangest ones I've ever heard of… she has a phobia of midgets. Seriously. She gets a little freaked out when she sees a little person in public and it makes me LOL. |
