This is an Aspie/Autie group. The majority of such folk are male. ruveyn It isn't a 3 to 1 ratio though. In the other subforums the ratio is closer to 50/50. Only PPR is male dominated. That's seems to be what I've noticed. There is also some recent speculation that girls might be underdiagnosed. J...

Ditto what revuyn and 91 said. The solar system is a good example. At first glance it does appear the sun goes around the earth so it would indeed be simple to say that thats exactly whats happening- the sun orbits the earth. But the problem is the rest of the planets in the zodiac. If your a medeav...

For me the breast stroke was easier to really master than the crawl. And I like it better. Im more into endurance than speed (swimming lenghts), and the breast stroke makes it easier to switch back and forth from surface swimming and underwater swimming. Cant do the butterfly. Dont even wanna learn.

The owner or management of a news organization is free to slant the news anyway they feel like. There is no law requiring truth or objectivity. So let the consumer or buyer of the news beware. ruveyn Where did he say that "fox broke the law"? Hes implying that that Fox is advocacy group masqerading...

Ive noticed that the ladies dont seem to be as numerous on this forum as on the other forums. The poll seems to prove it. Theyre even less common in the later posts on the longer threads. For some reason joining a endless barroom brawl doesnt appeal to the ladies. Seeing as to how I'm a teetotaller...

Why did Jesus Christ refer to his followers as animals aka sheep? Jesus also made a judgment preferring sheep to goats. Is that discrimination? Goat meat is a common food in the country of Mexico. Did Jesus insult the country of Mexico/the entire goat industry of Mexico with his anti-goat remarks? ...

Okay. Im sorry You werent trying to avoid jury duty you were just being honest about the fact that you had aspergers and the lawyers just made of it what they made of it. I'm an Australian, but because of the way Aspergers makes me speak, people always mistake me for an American! For you Americans reading and unaware of your accent (one tank once said Americans don't have accents!) you, typically - you yourselves know how it varies state to state - speak in a slow d...

Thats kinda like asking "am I an American, or am I a golfer?" They are kinda unlike categories, and on top of that they are not mutually exclusive. Nothing to be afraid of. It just a long version of an SAT test. Well, more than that- but not much more. It involves interviews with you. Interveiws with your parents and other folks in your life. But mostly its various aptitude tests and the like involving paper and pencil. Exhausting but interesti...

I'd say Japan would be a good place, since they value introversion and other solitary activities like meditation. America (where I live) has one of the worst cultures for Aspies. Despite the increased awareness of autism, only the smooth talkers get to the top of the social and work pyramids here. ...
