I have great coordination and motor skills (except for agraphia). My neurologist while watching me walk: "You ever do ballet?" Me: "Yes, and I used to do competitive gymnastics." But my lack of eye contact and general discomfort with people are the hint and the sensory stuff is the diagnostic giveaw...

*sees that it wants me to select a gender* I'm already offended. EDIT: So.... I'll take it twice to see if it's a sexist test. *begins female test* "Would you spend your money selfishly?" What the hell kind of a stupid question is that? Second question.... buy a foreign made car. This is f*****g stu...

I have to wonder about that "ret*d body language" thing. It's the damndest thing. One time I just walked out of a test in a pretty advanced subject and since I have other disabilities besides AS (agraphia, for one), I take the tests in a separate room from the other students. So there I am walking a...

There are places that don't comply with federal law. UMichigan just got sued. Just because something is the law doesn't mean that it won't be a university's personal policy to try to sidestep you. They've discouraged me at every turn, no matter how much documentation I've shown them. Pretty much a d...

The never ending, never goes away, I f*****g hate it label: Drama queen. Goes with the hypersensitivity to.... everything. Just now it happened when my mom and brother were in the kitchen and she turned on the water. I can't bear the sound of running water from our pipes because they squeak so much ...

I think most professors know what Aspergers is and can probably spot it better than the average psychologist can! Folks don't you all know that in college now all you have to do is get a letter from your doctor saying you have a Aspergers or ADD/ADHD diagnosis, give it to the guidance counselor and...

Yeah, I have my suspicions about it being a troll group. But some of those Something Awful posters actually believe some of that sh**. Speaking of SA, I know a guy who runs a site that's a lot like SA. He works for facebook. I'm not sure which department but... That might be the sort of mentality w...

She's really young (not saying that young = uninformed, but I don't expect her to have had an AS student before), so I doubt that she'd have already come to this conclusion. I'm not sure I like the idea of a letter. For one thing, I don't want anything on paper because then, there's proof lying arou...

Profs: Not interested in the class (because I have a tendency to look at my desk instead of at them/the board... but I'm still listening), antisocial, stupid (for some reason, it takes the SECOND test or paper to convince them otherwise), and a burden because I need a laptop and have to take tests i...

People in general: rude, shy, on drugs, quiet, conceited, know it all Disabilities services (just knowing that I have *a* disability, in my case its technically epilepsy, but not knowing which one): they usually think I'm some kind of ret*d... this is even at college... even when I'm getting testing...

There's this one prof I have who... just doesn't get me at all and a lot of our issues could be settled if I'd get some balls and finally admit my condition (which I keep a secret from basically everyone but my parents, one other prof, and the doctors who know about it). So for those of you who have...

I had a teacher who tried to convince her class that a number with an exponent of 1 meant you multiplied it by itself 1 time. An exponent of 2 meant you multiplied it by itself twice(like cubing it). We pointed out her mistake, but she got angry and insisted that since she was the teacher, she was ...

Another nail in the diagnostic coffin. I look a hell of a lot older than I actually am, maybe 26-30.

My dad looks his age.
