Interesting thread. My mother was left-handed and a super clutz because they tried to force her to be right-handed when she was in school. 4 of my 8 siblings are left-handed. I am the only Aspie and I am right-handed. I'm the only one with green eyes, too. The rest have brown or blue. My older broth...

Maybe someone is wrong. And so what if you are a drama queen? It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. We're all at different levels of development. It's silly to judge another, no matter who or where you are. The best we can do is lean on each other and help each other along. You have to liv...

I'm alone in a crowded room. I do things to try to be a part, like, I'm a planning commissioner in my city and I joined a writers' club, but I'm such an odd bird. No one wants to know me. Sometimes, though, I'm a rock star. I command everyone's attention in the room. I have the answer. Then I realiz...

...and that haircut draws the eye to a point, as in a pinhead point. You don't look like you're going bald on top. Grow some hair. Draw my gaze to your eyes. You have very soulful eyes.

Congratulations on the weight loss. It gets harder as you get older and the effects of gravity don't just go away. I mean, they might if you turned into one of those extreme bodybuilders, but who has that kind of time? It's a little hard to take, eh? Jack La Lane came up with 30 facial exercises. Yo...

Do any of you that have fibro (or other painful chronic illness) think that your sensory issues are worse now after developing it? I know for sure mine have ... YES! Sensory issues get worse over time. Sight - Right now, I'm working on sound-proofing my room from the sound of my neighbor's defectiv...

I can't tolerate any prescription meds so I've had to find alternative methods to cope. If you really want life-long relief that you can access at any time and are willing to invest a few years practicing, I highly recommend prayer, yoga and/or tai chi. A healthy diet can also make a difference. I t...

Only if you let them. I choose to do the opposite of what they say. I really don't like that sentiment. It's like saying a man only beats a woman if she lets him. We were children! My parents, teachers, almost everyone sought to teach me how to behave properly with criticism and humiliation. I was ...

Interesting. I don't bob but I think it's on purpose. When I was in Jr. High, I was so awkward that my mother sent me to the Sear's Charm School where they taught me how to walk. A few years after that I saw a film about geisha and determined to walk like a willow, just 'cause I thought it was neat....

I've been dealing with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome for over 22 years. It's been very debilitating. I found out about 3 years ago that I have partial epilepsy but it's been suspected for over 30 years, just not worth testing until more recently. I'm mostly sure it was caused by a head i...

I believe that, as with anything Aspie, one can "overcome" (bleh, I hate that word) issues with practice. When I was 14, my mother sent me to the Sear's Charm School because I was such a clutz. I grew 6 inches during my 13th year and could not get used to my giant body. I learned a lot of balance tr...

I should add, if only because it's interesting, at least to me... that I've had three, 3-day EEG's. The first one showed a lot of seizures and the second one showed none. The third showed the same amount of seizures as the first one. The only difference was that I tried medical marijuana between the...

I have partial epilepsy. I don't really know when I'm having a seizure, which if nice if one has to have epilepsy. The worst manifestation of my seizures is pretty severe migraine headaches. I usually loose a day. I'm forced to lie still in a dark place for soooo long, which is distressing in itself...

I'm very cautious about what I write. I've actually been kicked out of a support group because I said the wrong thing. It was truthful but I put it wrongly. It was a low point in my life - when I needed support the most. I don't want to build up false support to be thrown away again when I "get out ...
