What happens when you don't consciously adapt? I'd be interested if my life would actually be worse if I acted more instinctively and impulsively. Well, for me personally it's been a great experience and I wish I had done it ages ago. Start looking at the people who don't conform, instead of those ...

I've chucked trying look normal and fit in. For one thing, all I was doing was focusing on the most stereotypically "normal" people and disregarding the ones who were different and unique. There are a lot of NT's with social lives who are pretty unusual in their behavior and different in appearance...

Thanks everyone for your advice. He's been sick so I haven't seen him in class. I texted him a get well message and told him I liked him. He hasn't responded in over 3 days :(. I don't think anything will come of this. Maybe he's still trying to figure out himself, but if anything at least I made a...

I know you're joking, but I'm going to guess it's more like a 30+ average in the private messages but some 0's as well. I almost sent it private because I thought I was the only one with "high" numbers and no long-term relationships. But I guess others are almost as bad. So whatever. @ "almos...

Sometimes.

But then I remember why I'm working as hard as I am on myself, what my long term goals are, and who they're to serve besides myself.

And also that nothing worth doing is easy.

Then I'm able to persist & just keep moving forward! [/meet the robinsons]

I can manage day to day life just fine, just not financially right now, so I'm living with family for a bit while I get back on track and stack some coin.

I am well known for my verbosity :P Can you provide me with a brief hint of the kind of thing you have in mind... Dramatic change in diet from what you're probably used to. That's the single most difficult part, especially if like many ASD people you refuse to give up certain favourite foods or are...

I am pretty dull and I envy other aspies who did more than me. These things are nothing. Stop that. Comparing yourself to others is a sure fire way to depress yourself, as no matter how successful you are at something, there's always someone better & you can lose sight of the value of your own ...

It seems like people with AS like to live a more traditional lifestyle where you support yourself. I find the concept of working solely for money quite unnatural. Perhaps it's because modern work is quite abstract and it's more of a social concept, eg. office work has nothing to do with human survi...

If anyone has any alternative suggestions about other types of therapy, natural methods I may not have come across, ways that I can learn to improve my social skills independently and so on then I will be willing to listen. As long as its not the usual type of self help book designed for someone wh...

I don't think of things that I did as things that I did despite ASD. I think of things that I did as things that I did. While I tend to agree, especially since most things I've done I did before I knew I had AS (figured it out about 6 months ago) so they were all just things that I did. I worded it...

I need to start walking to work and taking up exercise classes. I think that's the only way I'm going to force myself into an exercise routine. I would probably hire a personal trainer if I could afford it. I find the greatest motivation is having a "WHY?" reason that's bigger than yourself. If the...
