Yeah I've spent time volunteering and time working, working was much better due to the money :) I would've thought that if volunteering was pleasing to God that something good would've come out of volunteering but it didn't... Except meeting a few nice people... But I don't see them outside of the ...

But sometimes this seems too high a standard. For example, in Taoism: “Regard your neighbor’s gain as your own gain ...

https://reformedwiki.com/solomon-stalls-horse 1. There Was a Copyist Error This is probably the most likely explanation. The footnote for the ESV translation of 1 Kings 4:26 says this: Hebrew; one Hebrew manuscript (see 2 Chronicles 9:25 and Septuagint of 1 Kings 10:26) 4,000 . . It is reasonable to...

The Bible doesn’t deserve any more respect than the epic poem Beowulf.

[and sometimes it deserves less!]

Occasionally, the New World Translations makes the Bible, especially the Old Testament, slightly more palatable (although less accurate). For example, Moses gives orders concerning the Midianites in Numbers 31:17, 18. The New World Translation says: 17 Now you should kill every male among the child...

Blood fractions are considered a matter of conscience. JWs who are really strict, like my grandmother, won't even take those. Blood transfusions still aren't allowed. If a person gets a blood transfusion and it is known, they will be excommunicated and shunned. Just to lay my cards on the table and...

As I understand it. Jehovah's Witnesses are a far out theology not really akin to any other Christian sect. They are comparable to the Mormons, though not particular akin to them either in theology (but as far out as they are). They are similar to other fundamentalist groups as far as theology is c...

Please remember that getting a good job is a numbers game. Be ready with a medium short follow-up such as: “I’m a highly dependable employee who’s very rarely sick. And plus, I find riding the bus more relaxing than driving.” And substitute “walking” or “riding my bicycle” as needed. And yes, be wil...

I’m exploring the concept of a broad range. For example, even if we really click at the beginning, maybe we’ll first have sex anywhere between the 3rd and 12th date.

I also like Penn & Teller’s TV show “Fool Us.” Alright, one possibility: 1) Okay, the whole thing with the Fermi Paradox — “If the Milky Way Galaxy is teeming with extraterrestrial life, then where the heck is everybody?” However, I’ve read even if there was an Earth-like planet at orbiting the ...

Even as an American citizen, I liked the Queen, too.

Yes, I’m a little bit picky and choosey about who I hug. And during a hug, I understand that a couple of back pats signals, thank you, that’s enough. And I can use this as well.

But I really think respiratory droplets when a person coughs, sneezes, or maybe just talks is a bigger disease vector.

Mmm. So, naturally-occurring Earth bacteria which ride on upward air currents end up kind of flash-frozen in the upper atmosphere?

Can you give a reference?

I think they’ve found organic chemical compounds in comets.

But that’s quite a bit different from life, right?
