I gave myself a concussion having a meltdown in school once. Banged my head on a glass wall. It wasn't pretty. |

My speech gets more formal if I am nervous or talking to someone that I don't really know. When I am with someone I trust deeply or if I am much more relaxed, my speech really relaxes as well. I did not think of this before but one poster said it and now I wonder if I do this too. But I am wondering... |

I get really bothered and disgusted by some visual stimuli as well. Some things that can mean nothing to most people will make me literally sick. |

-but this brings to mind the passage from Goncharov's Oblomov in which he thinks "There can be no such thing as friendship between a man and a woman." I always thought this was very stupid and wrong, but an attitude to be aware of. I agree. It is stupid and wrong but unfortunately many people are n... |

But it's more complicated. I have a weird sense of place. Some places seem friendly and I am at ease in them. Other places seem malevolent. I can't explain this. But I have been in some of the peaceful places at ease in solitude and suddenly become afraid when I realized other people had arrived in... |

I have had that happen many many times. Some people are still close friends though and they really were that busy or involved in their own lives and situations. Others stopped being friends with me with no explanation at all and that really hurt. But I know what you mean. I have certainly felt what ... |

I tend to put a lot of thought in to buying things. I try to save whenever I can. If you have an uncontrollable urge to spend on things you don't need, perhaps there is a deeper issue lurking underneath that you are having trouble dealing with. Just a thought but it might be worth looking into. Some... |

Personally, Goldfish, I am happy for you that you are doing well. If whatever you are doing is working for you than I say, "Keep doing it and more power to you." I will be interested to read it once you get to write it. Hopefully it will be soon. |

Yeah, the immediate feedback helps a lot. Most people are too insecure to give it though. Or they assume that we should know certain things and don't realize that we don't. I am really lucky that I have someone who understands that I really don't know things and who is always very loving and very pa... |

The friends I have now I have made through the different sports I do. One of our really good friends and his wife I met because he was a chairlift operator at the ski resort we go to. It's a tiny mountain with only 5 lifts so you see the lift operators all the time and get to know them if you go as ... |
