A right/left divide makes sense to me, but it's still the same cause of the condition: some parts of the brain highly developed, some connections underdeveloped. Thats like saying "if you break the arm or if you break the leg its part of the same condition: one of your limbs works fine and the...

I wish Asperger's would be taken out of the autism umbrella. I think it should be a separate disorder, like dyspraxia, learning difficulties or ADHD. Most people with Asperger's that I know of are mostly eccentric, socially awkward but not clueless, good at masking, are highly sociable, can natural...

My first diagnoses was autistic spectrum disorder and then I was placed with Asperger's by the same doctor. I see the ASD diagnoses as a temporary diagnoses until he figured out what diagnoses to give me. Were you first diagnosed under DSM 4 or under DSM 5? It seems weird in both cases. If you were...

One of the British posters on here said their brother was recently diagnosed with Aspergers even though it was meant to have been declassified here in 2013 and I also recently received information about Aspergers from the Autism service the doctor referred me to... the leaflet tells you about Asper...

Serial killers can be really arrogant and self important for one thing. They're often obsessed with power, which I don't think is entirely uncommon, it's just they express it in uncommon ways which cause conflict. So are you saying she will think I am "obsessed with power" -- as in "...

Additionally, people associate this kind of obsession with, like, serial killers and stalkers and things because that's what serial killers and stalkers actually do. Thats what I don't get: what is the connection between doing what I am doing and being serial killer? I guess to be honest I don't un...

But I find that with ladies. Most available ladies roughly my age tend to have about 6 children, have gone through umpteen men... . Yes this where Hollywood gets it really wrong. know Steve Carrell's character in "40 Yr old virgin" is fiction, it gives the impression that 40+ yr old men g...

It's possible but I have a story that is a little similar. Short, there was this girl who I seen in 7th-8th grade but never had actual connection with beyond a couple words. We both went to other schools after that, I did develop an obsession with her all until a few years after I finished my high ...

I am a graduate student at University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque. Now, in the other states, "university of" something might have different schools that are on the same level (kind of like University of California has Berkeley, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and lots of other schools)....

I, too, am a physicist. What do you specialise in? I do interpretation of quantum field theory. In particular, back when I was studying quantum field theory, I was stuck on things that appear way too abstract and difficult to visualize, and so I spent several years trying to find a way to visualize...

Interesting that you mentioned the word "individualist". On the surface, individualist" means who cares about fitting in, so nothing to look at you down for. But I said the word "on the surface" for a reason. If you look a bit deeper then -- as I just described -- people us...

Hmm. I'm relating less and less to this thread. I'd never try and convert a partner. Just as I wouldn't expect them to convert me. I want to already get along and meet half way. I eat pork, but I wouldn't expect them to abstain if I did. Just as long as they remembered not to make me a ham sandwich...

I think it's rather about social connections. The Jews were present in the progressive, internationalist, more intellectual wing and absent in more conservative, working class-backed wing with nationalist tendencies. In America that is true as well: 80% of Jews vote democrat and only 20% vote Repub...
