Buddy, there is such a thing as not being academically gifted. It sounds like this applies to you. No "special education" in college? Well, there are accommodations for language differences and anxiety (extra time perhaps) but if you aren't going to be able to perform college level work, c...

Iphone, did you go to college at age 12? That sounds like an interesting story.

It sounds like you feel you have been discriminated against. That must hurt.

I'm not the world's most sociable person, but what has felt bad to me about leaving a job was losing contact with people I knew well, and feeling a part of a team, instigator of parties, mutual griper about bosses, etc. Still, I never felt so bad that I cried about it! It was more of a wistful thing...

That's all very well and good, but I, personally, don't learn that well from audio-only. Never have. Perhaps this is why I took to video-conferencing more readily than some others. The other point I want to make is that for therapy, having both audio and video is much better than audio alone. This i...

The best way to deal with ANY compliment is to confidently reply 'Thank you!' and move on. If they were trying to be manipulative, you have just derailed them. If they were sincere, you are being appreciative. If they were being polite, but not manipulative, you have been socially appropriate. The t...

Here, we are transitioning from two independent adults to one growing senile and the other taking more and more responsibilty. He used to do the litter box chore but is forgetting it or doing it wrong, so I have to take that over too. One thing that makes a difference is using a long-handled scoope...

Contact vocational rehabilitation office in your locality. Be honest about the dismissals, even though they embarrass you. They may be able to have you work with a job coach who can help you succeed. Most likely, you are blind to behaviors that are causing you to fail. I wouldn't say that if you wer...

That is EXACTLY what is the problem with friends like this. You won't be able to substantially change their style, so it's best to limit how much time you spend with them. There are some pros to this relationship yes, but do they outweigh the cons?

Yeah, autism is not insanity.

At the same time, there have been a few people on autism forums that I just wonder how long before they do the big violence thing. "He was a loner." "Didn't have any friends." "Disgruntled former employee" etc.

We all have flaws and limitations. I hope no one is frustrated with me, for making excuses or changing my story.
