Hi Lamperouge.

I am also from the UK and my wife is from Argentina but I really don't know much Spanish even though I've been married now for 8 years. Just too lazy to learn it. Good for you for learning it though.

I delivered newspapers from the age of 14 (well I was nearly 15) for about a year and it was a job for me. It made me extra money that was far more than my pocket money and the money was rightfully mine, i.e. I had actually earned it myself. I only stopped because I was coming up to my O-level exams...

C++ has to offer 4 things that C doesn't that make it easier to use: - templates, in particular for collections At a memory/speed cost. I've run into this once extremely: I wrote a program which dealing with a vast amount of very small data sets (10^7 of a few kB each). Replacing the std-lib, virtu...

You have all that in C++ too for when you need it.

We won the battle with music and now most music downloads come without DRM. We can surely win the same battle with regard to movies. If they don't have DRM then it will encourage people to buy them rather than download them illegally. If they are clever, although it would take a fair bit of work, th...

I tend to like the Iron Maiden "epic" songs written by Steve Harris (with Bruce Dickinson on vocals, of course), that start slow and then build up to some crashing rock song, will typically have a great guitar solo bit in it somewhere then go back a bit more quiet at the end. My favourite Iron Maide...

I think the work place has become nastier as a whole and that affects aspies. Ideally, if they have to cutback, why can't they do what most employees would prefer and cut everyone's working week down by a few hours and their wages accordingly. Although a few may need the higher wage to pay off morta...

I don't think it's mathematics as such, I think it applies to education in general - at least as it was in my day. You were expected to sit in the classroom learning for years without doing, then after that are expected to go out in the workplace and do without learning. Yeah, you want to learn at t...

The Founding Fathers certainly oppressed the native Americans and killed many of them and took the land off them by force. Britains were not helping the Jews set up a state in Israel when they turned away ships of refugees from the holocaust from the ports of Israel to appease the muslim population ...

Learn and develop skills that someone is willing to pay for. Thought they might cover this in High School but times have changed. Not sure about the USA but they never covered it here. They fooled us with the more qualifications you have the better and a pile of good grades would get you a job over...

Firstly in the UK there are laws about what kind of work children can do and what kind of hours they can work. There are also laws generally prohibiting discrimination by age. But a job could be full-time thus requiring someone who by law needs to be over 16 to do it, and sometimes over 18. When I w...

I think I'm the other way, in competitive games I cheat if I can now. Maybe too lazy or maybe I feel I need to in order to compete with everyone else who does. Got me to give up an obsession of Bejeweled Blitz on facebook though. Once I found a cheat for it and could always achieve a top score I sto...

Do you really want a job working on your own though with no human contact? I personally do not want that, although many think that such a job is what would suit me. What I ideally do want is: - A say in key decisions - Being given responsibility for some area in which I work and being allowed to use...

I explained to him ...
