You want to struggle in the real world? :? No! That's the dilemna: Is it better or worse than where I was? I vote worse. You're less happy. This is partly why I would never want a cure. Plus, I'd fear losing my Aspie gifts. It's because I'm so focussed on the application of pure reason that I'm goo... |

I was overjoyed to have an explanation as to why other people can't seem to think rationally. Turn out they're NTs. Since I'm still me, and I have a generally pretty high self-esteem, what the diagnosis does for me is really explain what's wrong with other people. Nothing's wrong with me - I'm still... |

No. The whole country is 90% white. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e8/Visible_Minorities_of_Canada.png/450px-Visible_Minorities_of_Canada.png http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_Canada#Ethnic_groups Oddly, that table leaves out natives completely. It appears Statistics Ca... |

Cover to cover. I have two observations.
1. I can't imagine why anyone finds that stuff even vaguely compelling.
2. The new testament is dull. |

I actually applaud the pope's decision on this one, and I'm not even a christian. A religion only makes sense if its bound by some sort of doctrine, and its practitioners can't reasonably opt out of that doctrine just because they don't like it. Since the pope claims to be the infallible voice of go... |

I'm a libertarian. I believe in minimal government. The government only exists to do what we, as citizens, can't. That means, I think we should abolish welfare and government handouts. The responsibility to take care of the poor and disabled is for the people--not the government. I'm for free enter... |

I've mostly abandoned society. I neither want nor need their understanding or consideration.
If they don't care about me enough to learn how to talk to me, then I don't see why I should care about them. |

My wife did something similar to me the other day. I was about to settle into the den with my computers when she asked if she could check her email first. She said, "I just want to check my email and then you can be in here for hours." But she wasn't actually telling me I was allowed to spend hours ... |

Ana, yes it does. This link might provide more information for you than I could: http://www.gfcfdiet.com/ http://www.autism.org/leakygut.html http://www.autismweb.com/diet.htm Those sites all deal with the possible benefits for children (though why you'd want to go to any effort to reduce autistic ... |

I understand your feelings, Flagg. Please try to understand mine. I really want to give some of these kids a better chance of being accepted, and some of them truly need protection in the cruel environment of an educational facility. It's the people who are cruel who's behaviour needs to be altered... |

this is true! a throwback to ty cobb :D More of a Wee Willie Keeler, I think. Keeler, incidentally, held the record for most singles in one season (206 in 1898) until Ichiro broke that in 2004 (225 singles). Also, Keeler had 8 consecutive 200 hit seasons, also the major-league record. Ichiro has 6 ... |

Before I ever heard about high-functioning autism, I wondered if I was a psychopath because I honestly didn't care how people felt, but I didn't care because I didn't know, and that's the relevant difference. Indeed. The only thing I could find that fit the way my mind worked was 'psychopath'. Yet ... |

I would have interpreted her correctly, which is exactly what you did. Learning to be skeptical like JonnyBGoode is hugely valuable for us. We know what people are saying (because we apparently understand the language better than they do), but we need to learn that they often don't, so they often ma... |

There's far too many outright contradictions and stretches of logic in the bible for it to be true. Take the "Problem of Evil" for example. These 3 things can't co-exist: 1) God is omnipotent 2) God is omnibenevolent 3) Evil exists ...and don't give me the BS excuse that god allows evil to exist in... |
