Thank you, guys! I think (not sure) that I'll be in Irvine... Is the bus safe enough for a woman alone? I remember that in LA they told me not to ride buses alone... |

Yes, SoCal is south california. And I'm supposed to start working soon. :( Grisha, thanks a million! Sounds like I'll be very near you. I have NLD so I have very bad visio-spatial impairment. If I rent a car, I'll get lost immediately with no way back. I'm fretting, what if the company expects me to... |

I have to travel to the USA in a few days, to SoCal, and I'm very scared. Mostly, how do I go from place to place, say from the hotel to the office? Is it safe to take taxis? And the social subtext, how do I get along with them SoCal people, what should I take into account? |

I don't even own a TV set, I only know them from fanfic on the web. But they're always dismissed as "weird" in the stories and in mytharc, I don't know why... |

Everyone calls them weird and kind of leaves them aside. I don't see anything weird in them... Is it because I'm Aspie?
Any and all contribution comments will be welcome... |

Your words did me a lot of good, Apple. Indeed, I was raised to not pay attention to my own pain and efforts. You reminded me that once a car almost ran me over when he was going reverse out of his garage and I passed with my bike, so seeing the car coming towards me quickly I dropped my bike trying... |

Is it the chicken or the egg, though? Do you hold those values dear because you're like that, or are you like that because you hold them dear? I think that if I'd had the ability to play the game, I may very well have also seen it as the best way to live and I wouldn't have different values as I do. |

If my bosses looked me up on FB, then they know I'm Aspie. Not good. But I don't care anymore. |

That's why you have to always be like on your wedding day - wear a personality that suits from your boss to your great-grandmother to your closest friend. I find that one of the hardest things for me to do, because it combines both biggest problems I have: social + multi-attention. I'm bound to say ... |

I feel guilty because their tricks are designed for normal people's psychology and how normal people react. And here I am, looking all normal, and yet impervious to normal tricks...
I soooo much more prefer the anonymity of big stores than the smalltalk of the small ones! |

Thank you, Auntie. I used to be a lot more active here, contributing my mind and soul, before I was repaid for my kindness with heinous treatment, now I post a lot less.
I thought NTs adored the FB interface! I remember the young women at my work, they seemed so totally smitten with it! |
