Hi, I will always prefer reading the book vs. seeing the movie...my imagination takes the book to the highest level, something a movie is unable to capture.. I agree with you totally. When I read a book I 'see' a film of it in my head and I can have everything exactly as I want it. Sometimes when I...

Hi BlueSky96, Your post stirred memories from my (distant) youth. I relate to you very much as all of us on the spectrum do. You have found a good forum here, explore it! Many NT's seem to think we are emotionless, I think we are more emotional than them. We all need an emotional release. As for 'no...

I have a very limited social life. Apart from things I do with my wife I go to three or maybe even four football matches a season with my supervisor from work. She is the only friend I have. Otherwise I attend these matches alone, as ever.I have tried social groups, a chess club and a couple of ukul...

The French detective Elise Wassermann in 'The Tunnel' A very good portrayal of an Aspie, one I found when I was trying to a diagnosis. I believe that a sequel titled 'The Tunnel: Sabotage' is due out shortly on Sky Transatlantic. I don't have Sky, dammit, so I'll just have to wait for the DVD to be ...

'A penny for your thoughts' is one I used to hear a lot here in England when I was young but I don't hear it so much now. I sometimes used to answer that my thoughts weren't worth a penny. I was usually annoyed by this one but I did understand what they wanted. I just struggled for an answer. 'Cheer...

I used the link. I usually describe myself an Aspie, or i say 'I am autistic'. I don't understand why this should be wrong: nobody thinks anything of it when I say 'I am diabetic'. All this person first stuff seems very odd to me.

One that causes me a lot confusion is when someone says "next Friday", "next Monday" or whenever. I understand this to mean the next Friday or Monday but NT's often mean the Friday or Monday AFTER that. So I often have to specify the date to be sure.

The Bridge of Spies. Mark Rylance is a great actor. He was terrific in Wolf Hall as well, playing Thomas Cromwell.

I recently told a colleague at work and he immediately became overly concerned about how I was and much friendlier than normal. I think he means well but it's weird, a bit like I'm ten years old again. I'm hoping it won't last too long. In contrast my supervisor has known for a few years, back befor...
