Humans all have a varying set of skills. Sometimes, multitasking and responsibility happen not to be one of the skills that we excel in. Perhaps you can attempt to discover exactly is hindering your ability to accomplish responsibility. Do you have Executive Function Disorder and thus have difficult...

Everybody happens to have a few "bad holidays": sometimes, the environment, the people, the changes, the stimulus, or whatever minute little factor irritates a person, autistic or not. In all likelihood, your mother and her sister will have found a way to enjoy their vacation in spite of your behavi...

"You are 21% neurotypical!"
Sensible. Due to my Southern upbringing, I have developed some social aptitude, however meager.

I just answer it even on the occasions that I know its rhetorical, because I don't like rhetorical questions. ^This, though the occasions in which I realize that the question is rhetorical is relatively few. One can usually conjure up an intelligent reply to a rhetorical question, in my experience....

I heavily suspect that Dominil MacRinnalch of the Kalix MacRinnalch/ Lonely Werewolf Girl series has Asperger's. Granted, the series focuses on Scottish werewolves and their interesting familial happenings and likely falls under the genre of young adult/ teenage fiction, though I find it is an enjoy...

Technically speaking, selective mutism and autism cannot be co-morbid to each other, since the social difficulties of pervasive developmental disorders and of selective mutism are qualitatively different. Source That being said, I have been known to enter a state of near-muteness under very specific...

Sometimes, I had (and probably still have) some difficulty distinguishing between something that I should be able to get over/solve myself and something that requires help from another person. For example, I often saw asking the teacher for clarification as the absolute last resort. I felt as it was...

On the bright side, at least you have the sense to determine that you are not understanding it. Believing that you understand a situation for years and then realizing that you don't understand it at all... that is pretty painful (I apologize if this is what you were referring to). Right now, I canno...

I personally believe that rocking/stimming/flapping is our bodies's way of expression emotions that may not always be expressed through more conventional means. We either cannot express it (emotions) through more traditional manners or have so much of it that it can not all be expressed through more...

Would drawing a checkered board on one's keyboard constitute an unpleasant reaction or a pleasant one? I enjoy the confrontation of the logically fallacy of being saddened by one human's death while being cheered by another's, though the prospect of such reaction from humanity dampers my mood. Thus,...

Sometimes, love can cause a person to view a person through a different mindset--"rose tinted glasses," if you will. She may be so emotionally attached to him that she is blinded to the less positive realities about him. Of course, she could also be in denial--she may not want to admit that he is no...

I have no idea what the "normal" reality is considered to be, so it is difficult for me to determine whether or not my own view of reality is "alternative." That being said, I am fairly agnostic in my views of reality; I have come under the impression, for example, that "God" was originally a massiv...

I thought NTs all rather be socialising than studying? From what I've observed, they manage to turn their studying into socializing: study parties. Supposedly, they actually get a good bit of studying done. I have a tendency of scoring fairly well on the standardized tests; however, this is largely...
