one hot summer day, pre-a/c, i was driving with the windows down, and a bee flew in, bounced off my cheek and somehow rolled down the back seat where it proceeded to sting me in the tuchas through 2 layers of denim, involuntarily the cheek that it stung made that leg stomp down onto the gas, and if...

One of my greatest fears in life since I was a child is getting stung by a wasp or a bee. I have never been and I intend to keep it that way. If you're not allergic it's no big deal, but I get it. If it's any consolation, I'm pushing 60 and I've only been stung once and I was partly to blame as I f...

I truly don't mean any offence, but given the way you've been talking about her here, I find this rather astonishing, borderline disturbing.

She must be a hell of a woman to raise such strong conflicting feelings in you!

Or maybe you're just a very complicated man :P

N/A. I'm fairly anti-hero. To me the word hero implies perfection. The effects of putting someone at that level are: A) Since people believe they are perfect (thus they do no wrong), their followers are suceptible to manipulation and fanatical behavior. B) The person in question struggles to live u...

I used to be, very much so, when I was younger. I still have my moments, but got a lot more "live and let live" with time. But I'm still good at burning bridges, I have no idea if it's related in any way, but once the "point of no return" is reached I suddenly and completely stop...

What happened with Booya?

She was stripped of mod powers out of the blue, around the same time as Ferris - the mods posted in the public forum that she did nothing wrong and they had no conflict with her.

We never got a chance to hear her side.

It will be interesting to see if the new mods will include those with more maturity and have a lesser politically left-wing orientation. It will be equally interesting to see how many of the new mods reveal their "true colors" once they are in power. Quite frightening when said that way b...

As long as the "top" doesn't stomp on it, I agree with you. But the keyword in your plan is trust and that one will have to be rebuilt with more than words.

There should be a position of “troll-buster” who might or might not be a Mod. I mean in the computer-savvy sense. One who could spot an Internet troll a mile away. I believe it might be good if Mods we’re voted in by the membership....but the process might cause problems, too, They would need mod t...

That requires unbiased decision making and significant levels of trust in those making the decisions. Openness and transparency is how this would be ideally achieved, not a debate, but decisions that can be verified by others, where there is concern about impartiality or fairness. It's as simple as...

Calling someone a flea ridden mangy dog who should be avoided at all cost and should be forced off the forum is just disagreeing I guess  This is a plain insult that does not even try to pretend to attack an opinion. I'm sorry it happened to you on WP. I'm starting to understand why some memb...

I believe there must be rules against bullies.....and that they must be enforced. But I also believe in “strength in numbers” and that allowing one bully to ruin one’s experience is detrimental. This sort of takes away the impact and the strength of those who are not bullies. And it gives me the fe...

I'm confused about the topic here. Are we still talking about how to help WP or is that passé? It boggles the mind that with all the problems we've been having here in the last year or so, people still use this thread to harp about Fnord 8O I wish some MORE would return. Show that they’re not intim...
