Maybe, just maybe, Autistics are simply a natural variation of the human species who are more susceptible to genetic and environmental changes inside and outside of the womb. I can't help BUT think we have a distorted incomplete picture of Autistics. Think about it a moment, what IF we study only No...

My big momma use to say: Baby, common sense, ain't so common. LoL.

Jesus Christ, what did I say to offend anybody? I get the feeling some of you might have problems with manners, grammar, and other social skills yourselves, and might be confusing some people's disabilities with other people's WILLFUL ignorance. I meant no offense to anybody. A lot of small town So...

I had a long ass beard and wore an interesting cap after 9/11. I got introduced to quite a few cops. LoL.

Most cases are handled on the street. It's important that you remain calm....

IF you can't, it might be a good idea to carry a card identifying yourself as Autistic.

I suspect Autistic children are unskilled overt Bullies and ADD/ADHD just exacerbates the situation. They are not skilled on the social niceties of overt and covert Bullying THAT non-Autisic children are skilled at. Basically, I suspect Autistic Children with ADD and ADHD simply get caught.... Bull...

Maybe, she was being motherly when she started talking to you as IF you were a child. LoL. But, then again, since she acted as IF Aspergers was such a horrendous condition, something tells me THAT she may have thought you had cognitive delays. She did it in-order to make sure you understood her and ...

Your thought processes are NOT a consequence of conscious change. You process information in a another way(more than likely due to how your brain is wired as others have mentioned) which results in a different perception. It effects everything to one degree or another. I'm not saying you are wrong, ...

continue And, none of these folks can tell you, how they actually do IT. Daniel Tammet can relay what he sees, how his mind works( in regards to synesthetic relationships), BUT he can not tell you the automatic mechanisms working, no more than a non-Autistic person could tell you how. When the Autism rate was 1 in 10000 and over 70 percent of the children were believed to be cognitively delayed, such language could be used liberally and unnoticed. I would think an astronomically higher Autism rate, proof of a much lower rate in cognitive delays, and the emergence of a large numbe...
