You don't have to seem outwardly socially awkward to have Aspergers. If socializing is difficult/tiring for you, you could still have a deficit in social communication. Considering all the other symptoms seem to fit it's something to look into. If you only have sensory issues and OCD type symptoms, ...

Me neither that's why I said they're available but it's not required to interact with all of them at once or ever really.

Hi guys! I had an interesting thought last night and wanted to get people's opinion on it. Would you rather have/know 7 people who are just as passionate about your special interest(s) as you are, or $100,000 dollars to spend on your special interest(s) by yourself? A few notes: - You don't have to ...

I know things can be really tough when you spend your whole life feeling different from other people. Most of us on this forum can relate. Have you taken the Aspie Quiz or RAADS-R? You can find them online and they might help you find some answers and peace of mind. Of course you can't get an offici...

With family and friends it is fine. With everyone else it doesn't quite feel like sensory overload but it just feels unpleasant. Almost like I can feel a gauge filling before I need to look away.

I was recently diagnosed with ASD level 1 and I got a 43 on the AQ but I think 48 could be mild too. It just depends on how much support you need whereas the AQ measures how many symptoms you have.

I'm 17. I was diagnosed at 17. I knew for sure since 13 but kept being told that I was too smart/articulate/just had traits and wasn't actually autistic. As of Valentines Day, I'm diagnosed.

I could be hyper empathy which is sometimes a thing with Asperger's/ASD. I feel it sometimes but it happened more when I younger and more socially lost though. Almost like I would get general feelings of what was going on but not the more complex social nuances. At the same time I feel like it makes...

I like touch as well. Not my hair/scalp I'm tender headed but I love hugs and I will often end up touching family members/close friends when talking to them. I also like flabby skin e.g. When I was younger I would grab and pull my parents' cheeks and play with the skin on my grandma's hand/arm. Nice...

To my kindergarten teacher: Just because English was my second language didn't mean I was stupid. I was not, as you said, hyperactive because I was a high energy type. To the college instructors and school psychologists: You told me something was wrong with me, but never told me what it was. You ma...

Question for you folks. I'm by no means a proponent of stim suppression, compliance training, and forcing NT behavior but therapy for autistics should be evidence based and an analysis of our behavior after all we are by and large all across the spectrum, logical people. If ABA didn't do the bad thi...

That's the plan. I've been admitted to the undergraduate Communication Sciences and Disorders program at my local university and also got in to the honors program so that is what I'll be doing in the fall.
