Hi welcome to Wrong Planet! I can't give you much advice on navigating ASD at 52 as I'm 17 and just now starting the process of being diagnosed myself but I wanted to pop in and say I love your signature! I'm a bit of a Latin geek myself.

Hi I'm a 17 female who is finally just starting the process of getting diagnosed. I've wondered for a long time too, I saw a documentary on autistic savants when I was maybe 9 and I'm by no means a savant but things just felt eerily similar (the sensory/social issues) I've been seriously researching...

No one of the main characteristics of NVLD is good understand of the meaning and intricacies behind words. It's very similar if not identical to Grandin's Verbal Fact Thinker. I was diagnosed with it a few years ago because of the very large (as of the most recent testing 55 point) difference betwee...

I get a strong urge to bite the people that I'm close to kinda the same way people do with a baby. I've chocked it up to "love aggression" I also used to grab and pull people's faces for what I can only assume was a similar reason when I was a toddler. I also enjoy closing my eyes or press...

I'm the opposite as well super sensitive to cold and can tolerate relatively intense heat. It's weird though, as a kid, I remember people always asking if I was cold or hot because I didn't really react to either normally.

I don't really have much in the way of advice but I'm 17 and sometimes I feel younger than 10 maybe 7. I think it's an ASD thing honestly.

Almost always. I also do the music thing. I don't clench and grind at the same time so it's not a super rough grind, still enough for wear though. I only do it when I'm awake not asleep so most likely a stim.

I haven't heared of or seen sunglasses like that but I think they are a great idea. I'm not sure how they would be pulled off though because they would have to be the opposite of a car.
