^ For someone who partially does photoshopping for a living I find those really refreshing.

Made a whole 3d house model in AutoCAD... At age 13. Within less than a day.

That's cool. I did a door around the same age, not as impressive ... but in my defense the office I interned in couldn't afford 3D CAD software, so *shrug*.

I personally feel like the "strengths" of autism are mostly just a media image and not grounded in my own reality. Autism makes my life much more difficult and I don't have much help from any unusual skills in real life (possibly because real life isn't built around people like us). Learni...

I guess I was keen on travelling. Over the span of 10 years, I lived in 11 different places in 3 countries, and visited 20 countries (+ a lot of cities there).

I used to like climbing so I climbed trees and a silo with no lifeline. Luckily survived.

Hi. I'm new here. Sorry to post so long after but I am a 27 year old man who just got married a few months ago. I've felt the mental strain throughout my relationship due to masking and I am finding it increasingly difficult now we are married. I used to feel like that when I got married. It took m...

I didn't get much in the way of dating in the past. While my looks aren't anything to write home about the problem was also that the women I approached would not consider someone like me, and the women who were open to date me were not considered by me. Probably because I didn't realize what a relat...

Nice Guys™ who will do anything to gain a woman's attention except grow a spine and show some self-respect. Maybe they're afraid of confrontation, I dunno. In Japan, they say the couples who loves each other the most are those who fight. Because they trust each other so much they're not afraid to d...

I can't imagine what will happen if I were to have kids... I can, since I have a 1 year old daughter (along with a wife and full-time job). I still find some time for hobbies, but usually just between 22:00-22:50 when my kid has gone to bed. It helps that almost all of my hobbies are computer-relat...

It used to be hard for me, especially when I was feeling depressed or burnt out. There were times when I would obsessively check all the time tables of the buses, trains, planes etc. that would take me to my destination, fearing anything from a delayed departure to anxiety over using public toilets....

Again, that's much like my attitude to the rat race. There's a part of me that kind of regrets not testing myself against the challenge to get to the top of the pile, but a bigger part of me is very glad I never did any such thing. Socialism gave me an ideology to back up my attitude, but even with...

Might just as well throw in my two cents since "gifted in several fields" was written on my autism assessment papers. There were quite a few boys and girls around me who moved up one or two classes, but they also seemed to have certain "problems" with socialising later on (so not...

I broke my arm two days ago from a bad fall (which also required stitches on my chin). After a tiring journey through the hospital system, things have calmed down and I got reassured I don't need surgery.

Also coffee and cake.

I think Japan might be good for nerdy autistic guys. Various nerd culture things are very popular there like Anime, Nintendo, robots, J-pop, cosplay, & Japanese martial arts movies & weaponry :ninja: :nerdy: I guess it's good to live here if you're into that. Most women here are no more int...

There are quite a few people here in international/interracial/cross-cultural relationships (I'm one of them). It seems to occasionally work better than with someone from your local community, perhaps because there's a higher tolerance for social deviation. I've been approached neither less nor more...

I would say you simply got lucky. He could have just as likely said "Oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?" then proceeded to brutalize (and possibly murder) the 2 of you. I suppose there's no one-size-fits-all approach. Had you paid for the bracelet (even though you didn't want to)...
