It is difficult to conceive of knowing absolutely nothing these days. But I do believe you have to be receive information in some way. The main argument for no teaching needed is that since it is a natural biological function we will naturally figure it out. If that is true why do we need toilet tra... |

I don't know if this helps but we could be happy and not show it in a normal way. I often am asked what is wrong?, what is bothering you? because I am grimacing. I am that way usually because I am hyperfocising on something that interests me. We have had several threads here about this. I wish that ... |

Derek Jeter - Baseball Superstar
Social Skills wise although he certainly has hyperfocus. How does one be in public eye constantly for 20 years in today's world and never get in a scandal or seemingly say the wrong thing? That is a feat 99% of NT's could not come close to accomplishing. |

I would say mild enough to have to watch a sensory overload video made for NT's to appreciate what most members experience. Others touching me from the shoulders to neck Rain can feel like be bees I can taste if chicken or bread is over a day old and if they are 4 or 5 days old they make me nauseous... |

I am not sure well because I would have to know how different others really see me and I am not even sure how bad I am at reading that. As for the Autism Spectrum probably high. On the Aspergers subspectrum I was diagnosed moderately severe. I have seen little reason to doubt that. I see Aspies who ... |

I don't think an Autism Spectrum Disorder needs to be approached form the angle of, "things I cannot do. I don't agree with those who would completely rule out the idea that someone on the Spectrum can work in customer service. I have worked in healthcare with direct patient contact for the past 32... |

In an ideal world with greater supports for eberryone, what would one do about this situation to prevent a child from becoming aggressive and a parent from losing it? If I understand correctly as a result of the show supports that they weren't getting are going to be or are being forwarded to them |

A counselor that I talked to about this very issue told me that people try to get diagnosed or get their kids diagnosed for the benefit check. It's not a lot of money but they still try. So she said that it is harder and harder to actually get diagnosed because of the clinicians are aware of that. ... |

While it is a very difficult to find time as mother you need to take care of your own psychological needs. That is not being selfish. It is necessary for both for you and him. That you recognize that this is an issue and have reached out is a good start. |
