I read a statement from a psychiatrist saying something along the line: "People think they will get an autism diagnosis based on their own perception of being different from other people. That's not how it works. You get a diagnosis if other people perceive you as different." That's an ext... |

Just a thought - maybe you could try to change your body language in these situations where other women usually turn up and invade your personal space and try to look less "approachable"? |

A couple of years ago I had a co-worker, a scruffy looking man in his 40's, that was a heavy smoker and often turned up to work smelling alcohol from drinking the night before. I was surprised when he told me he was a vegetarian and held strong beliefs about animal rights. |

Up to the age of 5-6 years I did a lot of stimming both verbally and physically especially when I got excited by anything. My parents didn't associate this with autism but asked me why I did these things and pointed out to me that they found it weird. So I tried to restrain myself and to behave more... |

My personal view regarding people with average or above intelligence is that by the age of 30 you are old enough to care care of yourself. If you date an older person it's nobody else's business. Besides, a smart person can take advantage of and manipulate a less intelligent person regardless of eac... |

If that old man didn't say "Hello!" to you it's his problem. Maybe he had his reasons that had nothing to do with you. Some people act weird or rude. Some people are nasty. Don't waste time thinking about him. Next time you see him just don't say "Hello!" |

Yes. True, it is neurological in nature on a largely genetic basis. Essentially: we are different from neurotypicals./.../The point is also that it is behavioral, in the sense that if we don't have any help and diagnosis from an early age, it definitely becomes behavioral./.../ The post just above ... |

There are a set of rules in society. Rules about how you are supposed to behave. Rules about what defines being succesful. Rules about hierarchy. These rules are based on neurotypical thinking. If you have the ability to "light up the room" and are socially popular you are likely placed hi... |

I heard about a modern theory that our visible Universe is inside a large black hole. The Big Bang was the creation of that black hole. According to this theory the total Universe where this large black hole exists has no outer limits and has always existed. |

Men don't have to be muscular, thin, fat or have any other body shape unless they want to. To be "attractive" I think the most important thing is to be yourself without making any apologies. |

Best of luck. I hope "the shed" actually turns out to be a small house that provides you with decent living conditions. I think you as soon as possible should ask her to elaborate what kind of "shed" she is refering to. |
