Ironically, there's nothing common in common sense. It's very subjective. |

I think if someone informed me I wasn't normal, I'd be strongly tempted to congratulate them on their highly developed perception. When someone tells me I'm not normal, I answer "Are norms important to you?" with a look like they're a kid and I'm all understanding. They immediately start defending ... |

In my personal case, the biggest difference is they believe in the value of lying and I don't.
Lying: hypocrisy, white lies, lies to get ahead, faking, pretending, manipulation, etc. |

Yes, indeed. There's much less protocol and guess-work here than in any of the other cultures I know (the Latin, the Anglo-Saxon, the Japanese, the Chinese, etc.). Still, it's not easy for an aspie. |

I play with my rings and bracelets till I lose them or break them. Is that stimming? I caught myself doing it frantically today at a work meeting and wondered. I had never thought about it as stimming before... |

Absolutely. When I'm honest, they reject me. When I play a part and answer what they want to hear and lie, lie, lie...they adore me. |

How good are you at detecting the pecking-order in a group and acting according to it? How good are you at detecting what's acceptable/not acceptable/taboo/demanded in a certain group and talking/behaving accordingly? How old were you when you discovered that there is such a thing as social politics... |

I took an internet test suggested on this forum and it said I had the same degree of AS and NT, whatever that means.
I don't think I'm borderline AS. I think some traits are extremely pronounced in me, and others almost non-existent. |

My sense is very often totally different from others', so by definition it's not "common". Which doesn't mean it's less good than others'. I don't believe the majority is always right. On the contrary, I'm strongly skeptical of any beliefs and behaviors that are accepted by the majority. |

The grass is always greener... I left Southamerica largely because I wasn't able to see through the fake social niceties into what people really meant. In that sense, I'm much better off here. |

I've had some messaging with a couple aspies whom I was very interested in conversing with. However, they didn't ask questions, just limited themselves to answer mine. This is usually a sign that a person is not interested, so I stopped writing. It's a bit confusing, because I don't know whether it'... |

A few months ago I was in a terrible traffic-jam and a police car was stuck right beside me. I had seen it. The policeman told me to pull down my window and reprimanded me for being too focused in my thoughts. He gave me a long lecture, saying it's dangerous in traffic (I never crashed or bumped ano... |
