That last line you wrote - it's the same for me also. I was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD in 2004. I sometimes wish I was physically hyperactive as then I wouldn't have appeared to be, and accused of being, lazy my whole life. My mum was always concerned with me being "lethargic" when I ... |

What kind of jobs are you currently working? I work as a cleaner for a kids therapy centre. I empty bins, sanitise desks, keyboards, mice, kids tables, the waiting room tables, the staff kitchen and a huge kids gym that has play and therapy equipment. I do paperwork for an autistic man once a fortn... |

That's a great achievement. I'll be totally honest and upfront here. There's no way I could do that, even if the non academic side of things was sorted. Not with the quite severe EF deficits I have. Something I've never had help and support for, and that may well have worsened with age. I was very ... |

What sort of private school do you go to? What country?
I've just been reading the bullying thread and it astounded me how many people were humiliated by their teachers. Is there a higher-up person you can talk to?
Making fun of your bodily functions is not on.
I'm sorry I don't know how to help. |

I've read so many posts about people doing well until they reach college/uni. Then pure brain power isn't enough , and the bad habits they got away with come home to roost. I have no great achievements , not in the way that such things are usually judged. I do my best to be a good dad, granddad, and... |

I want to go under electroshock therapy like john elder robison did. To get the normal parts of the brain switched on. However I don’t have the funds for it. I didn't know John Elder Robison had ECT. I wonder why he had it. I've had it too, about six months after I joined WP. I had eight sessions i... |

Your sister may be on a high dose of mood stabilisers at first to deal with her manic episode and bring her down to a normal level. Once she's stable for a while, her medication may be lowered to a therapeutic level. One that stops her from becoming manic and also stops her from getting depressed. I... |

I've heard of risperidone (an antipsychotic) being given to autistic kids to treat irritability.
I took risperidone for a few months to try and treat my motor tics. Unfortunately I felt tired all the time and also had significant nausea. So it was back to the haloperidol which I still take now. |

As an unusual disease, back in my mid 20s I got chicken pox for the second time (first time was when I was five and it was very mild). I remember waking up feeling like I'd been run over. The next day the itchy spots started to appear. I got them mostly on my scalp, down my legs and on the soles of ... |

My new psychologist (my previous one left which I was very sad about because she didn't keep to a certain therapy, she just let me vent) is sticking to CBT. And she's given me a load of homework that I still haven't done and my next appointment is next week. It's stressing me out and that's the last... |

Australia Post doesn't deliver on. Saturdays or Sundays either. But having mail delivered 5 days a week is fine. We get private companies delivering parcels whenever, even on Sundays. Startrack, FedEx, etc. I can't remember their names. Sometimes they don't have any identification on the side of the... |

I like the quote where they talk about labels, and say we're going to get labels regardless. We might as well get the correct one. Exactly! My nephew is autistic but my sister doesn't want him to have a label so he's undiagnosed. I have a feeling he will get a diagnosis in the future without her in... |
