I had for many years my baby blanket that i slept with until it practically fell apart so I had to retire him and now have Sir Wolfus my stuffed wolf. I don't care if other people would think I was crazy it helps a lot. I also have a nice cotton blanket that I like running through my fingers.

Yes, for me it tends to come up if I'm in (for me) overwhelming new situations or just thrust into a new hard to cope environment (happened with moving and new job). Also the thoughts were real bad when i was a teenager and around family that ridiculed and made it all worse though at the time didn't...

I also have computational difficulties. I went to screen for ADHD precisely because of the staggering number of miscalculations in my homework. A good grade requires me to work quickly and spend the rest of my time proofreading. I don't know if your dyscalculia is similar to mine. It would be helpf...

Do you dance awkwardly or not at all or are you good at it? I wonder how many of us autistics have trouble with it. My husband jokes that I dance like a wooden board and he is correct.

I think that as an adult one is almost backed into a corner to learn better management skills regarding focus. i use the comparison of learning to drive. If one only looks at the speedometer, an accident is likely. As a result, one has to interrupt one's focus to make peripheral scans periodically....

I talk about stuff I want to talk about to myself first out loud(I know that sounds crazy), but its almost like a pre-hashing of what I want to talk about and how it sounds, then I go and talk to the actual person about it. I think it is a way of getting the thoughts out into coherent speech. Luckil...

I've noticed since being an adult I think I do this less than I did when I was younger, getting really into something and being so into it that's all I wanted to do. Have others of you noticed this as life has gone on? I suspect it is because with working I don't have as much time to devote to topic...

Not good at this, brain can't seem to handle well trying to do two things at once like this. With the driving thing, when I do drive which isn't much at all, I don't like trying to talk and drive, too hard to focus and concentrate. Heck I cannot even listen to music with words in it while writing or...

I drool a lot in my sleep. Also, during the day if I am real focused on something and not paying attention I've been known to drool right on whatever I was doing. Luckily I manage to catch myself before it really gets drooled on and it doesn't happen often around others so only I get embarrassed. It...

I have used this method most of my life. If I have a tough decision to make, I'll list all the pros and cons in two columns, to see if this helps to clarify things. Then I might do some fact checking or extra research to make sure I have all the information I can get before the choice must be made....

Probably mostly awkward. Tend to get random bruises from bumping into things that I don't even remember. Also tend to touch walls/ furniture as I go by. Especially getting up at night to go to the restroom I always clip my shoulder into the doorframe and am surprised they aren't constantly bruised u...
