Not to mention those who are deep into the "The Secret" crap. An acquaintance of mine is really deep into it. She only thinks positive (wishful) thoughts. She told me she thinks the positive thought of someone being fired so she can get their job. I told her wishing someone fired is not POSITIVE thi...

Yes, very pathetic attempts. Too pathetic for me to want them around me anymore.

Because I would never consider telling a paralysed person to "think positive" so they may be able to shake their legs a little bit next time they go to a dance party.

"learn to cure"? Not being tuned into group politics and hypocrisy is an illness?

I'm utterly fed up with people telling me to "think positive" so that my symptoms will lessen. Does it take a higher intelligence to understand that a blind person can't see "better" by thinking positive? Same with my social blindness. "Thinking positive", i.e. thinking in wishful thoughts, won't ma...

By scapegoats I mean that in the politics of the group, be it family, friends. evening class or work, when something goes wrong because of someone's selfishness or negligence, I'm the one blamed (even if I have no direct bearing in the issue). It happens, I think, because I'm the only one in the gro...

I don't get along with NTs and if someone around me is an aspie, which I'm not aware of, I surely don't get on with them either. I just don't have the getting along gene, I guess.

I was talking to some NTs at work and they said they'd tried to get money from the automatic cashier with their work tags and had tried to clock in at work with their credit cards...so that's not a bad one :-)

But I identify with everything else you just wrote.

My new colleagues think I'm something like Mr. Bin (or Bean?) but it goes away once I don't have to deal with a million new things at the same time. If I'm concentrating on feigning NT, I can't concentrate on the right elevator button, etc.

Today I pressed the wrong floor button on the elevator. I push instead of pull doors often until I get used to them. I take the elevator that goes down instead of up often. Etc. etc.

When I'm in a new situation, especially now at a new job in a huge company, and I have to pay attention to several things, I come out as terribly absent-minded.

Aspies + forming a united group....? I think that's the very antithesis of being an aspie.

I totally pass for an NT and always have, with no effort. I pass for a stupid, weird, blunt, crazy NT.

Except from some basic issues, common sense is not common to all humanity. Common sense is being weary of the aggressive blacks. Common sense is treating everyone regardless of race/color. Common sense is studying hard for all subjects at school and getting the best grades possible. Common sense is ...
