Legalize it baby. Or whatever, decriminalize it at minimum. I understand that people have strong opinions on this, but for real I just don't see it. I'm not an "active" pot smoker, but I've smoked a mother load in the past and in any case I see no problem whatsoever with people smoking a b...

Aloe works well enough, I just apply that periodically and deal with the burn for a couple days until it subsides. I don't get horrible burns though, I tan pretty smoothly considering how pasty Irish I am and, at least in the past few years, have gotten pretty responsible with the sunblock. If I get...

Or are there other benefits to study besides working in the field you're studying? Some people seem to think so. I've met people who work in fields unrelated to their major yet they don't seem to regret it. They say it taught them to work long hours and better writing skills. This makes me think th...

How do they wangle unpaid OT for hourly employees? That's not a thing that's OK by any standard, as far as I know. Unpaid OT for salaried workers is absolutely a thing though, although it may be overblown. I'm sure it's very different in different places, but where I'm at it's pretty mild compared t...

5'7" and 150 is fine as far as I'm concerned regardless of build, musculature, etc. I'm only a scratch taller than that (5'8.5" in bare feet) and I couldn't crack 150 when I was in the best shape of my adult life, back when I was 25-26. I didn't drink, I had kind of a sh***y diet but it wa...

I'm playing it. It's not groundbreaking per se but I like it a lot thus far. I'm not real far into it like 12-15 hours just to be clear.

Oh god, I was totally convinced I'd be a professional baseball player  I was, incidentally, a really good ballplayer growing up, but in retrospect I obviously didn't nearly scratch the surface of that level. I was basically at the level that I could have hacked no prob D-3 in college, but as it...

For me, it's just been a matter of being mindful of the fact that if I smoke weed, I'm going to be slightly less fundamentally motivated to do whatever, and grinding through that is a small but critical piece of the puzzle. It's not immediately relevant I guess for me because I hardly ever smoke the...

Mine was kind of the opposite--I went to a school with like 26,000 undergrads and the vast majority of my classes were 50+ people (in intro classes sometimes as many as 600!). At that age, being able to blend into the background and just do my thing was amazingly helpful to me. I'm solid under press...

Private practice psychology has been the dream for me for the longest time. Probably not going to happen because I'm 32 years old and generally pretty stoked on not having to try to balance graduate school and work anymore or ever again. I basically lost all the years I had from 19-25 due to drugs e...

What is your job?

I feel like they have a particular type of "engagement" in mind that is relative to your line of work; if that's the case, it's hard to advise without a sense of what the gig is.

I never played the PC game but the board game is awesome. I used to work 3rd shifts in 08-09 at a job in with basically nothing but downtime and a dude I worked with had Axis & Allies, we worked together 3 nights a week and played a full game every one of those nights for the last 4-5 months I w...

I try not to disclose any more than absolutely necessary to anybody, regardless of how personable or trustworthy they may seem to be. In many cases people will sell you out so quickly it'll make your head spin if it has a remote possibility of benefiting them in some way. I'm not generally as cynica...

I went to college right out of high school and got a B.A. when I was 22. I graduated on time, got a B+ average and all that, but I was a f*****g mess in college with drugs and chaos, I knew up front I wanted to go beyond that but I wasn't ready at all by the time I graduated. I waited a few years to...

I'd only outright ask for a raise if my job duties changed in a sense that would warrant one. But I'd look at that on a micro level, clearly s**t can get foisted on you in small increments etc. and if it adds up to where there's actual evidence to say "here's the difference in my general duties...
