No raising NT's is not so cut and dried, they are very complex socially - they are at greater risk for social problems like gangs and drugs and unplanned pregnancies . . . oi vey! and they need churches to help them feel safe and give them a sense of group identity (belonging) and they need to feel...

Why the paradox? Well... I don't think unhappy autistic people are unhappy because they're autistic. I think they're unhappy for any of the many reasons that people in general can be unhappy. And I think that everyone has problems in life--just because my problems can sometimes be traced back to au...

There's still the same three core issues with autism. It doesn't matter if they present differently. I'd be able to understand it. Understand != Relate Actually I heard having NT kids is cheaper than having aspie kids. So maybe I should hope for an NT child. How is it cheaper? You can pretty much i...

Mythbusters did a show where they put a pig head in liquid nitrogen and then smashed it with a hammer. It didn't shatter. They were re-enacting a movie so they only put it in the liquid nitrogen for a few minutes, I think. I'm sure you could find a video somewhere on the net.

I think it's going to cause a number of threads that compare MS to the bogeyman. Well, at least one thread anyway. It's ok, they're not hiding under the bed - they're not going to jump out and get you when the lights go out.

I'd be more worried about having NT children honestly, who wants children you can't relate to? I'd rather have aspie children, because I would be able to relate to them. I curious as to why the both of you think these statements true? AS is such a widely defined spectrum that it seems improbable th...

It's been posted many times on the adult forum that "If you don't get it, you don't get it." Once you're in a good marriage - you get it.

Selective quoting there, eh? I said following illogical rules . Go back and re-read my post. The quote contained the phrase some illogical rule which was the phrase you used. Selective reading, perhaps? Your first message also contained: The rules are written down for them by someone else... someon...

4 - What in the heck are you talking about with the 'not so different from MS' thing? Let's go back: But the honest truth is that most users don't understand the code and often end up paying the "free software" vendors for service contracts to get their applications running smoothly. Paying for a s...

When I wanted to write a DLL based on my collection of linux functions, I found that I had to massively rewrite it, despite the fact that in linux it was just a text file of functions. To build a shared object, the linux equivalent of a DLL, it took all of two lines in terminal. mcg is correct that...

How am I forced to be accountable to MS? I write and give out code that runs on Windows all the time and the company doesn't hold me accountable. That's because you're doing exactly what they want you to do: write Windows-only programs. If you were to make a product that actually competes with Micr...

The worker-bees often feel they could be disciplined if they used initiative and followed their own best judgment rather than following some illogical rule. You're making a big assumption as to the quality of the average worker's "best judgement". The average worker might think it appropriate to ba...

In less there's someone in particular that you're afraid of, you might consider a dog instead. Criminals don't typically break into houses with dogs (unless they know the owner...
