I read it and HATED it. It gave me the impression that the author only believes autistic people can lead meaningful lives if they are "cured". This is my first time hearing about this book, and the summary on Amazon sounds good. It says the main character enjoyed life before the cure, had... |

No, not really. I think a guy's shape is more important than muscle. Lean (as opposed to "stocky") and widest across the shoulders and chest. I would assume it's partly genetic. |

Good question, OP. I hope my opinion as a woman of color was helpful . Since most dating sites are predominately white, you can very easily find an alternative to Craigslist if you don't like the trend you are seeing on there. |

Not making eye contact with someone does not mean you are not talking face to face with him or her. I'm not convinced that not making eye contact is the sole reason why you've eluded catching the flu. Some problems with the "autism is the next step in evolution" idea. 1. From a purely &quo... |

Yes, it's OK. However, of course I immediately wonder why she wants to "try" a black guy. Sounds bizarre and racist to me. I'm guessing racial stereotypes are involved. Otherwise there wouldn't be something to "try" about black guys as if they are a different form of human. I'm r... |

I'm neither happy nor content. I was diagnosed with depression a few years ago, but I suspect that I've had it for much longer. |

Yeah, I agree that he looks scared. In the pictures he was looking at his toddler son who was playing on the floor. So his scared/shocked eyes are inappropriate. |

I don't understand what "vacant look" means? I was on another forum that's not autism related, it's basically a women's chat forum. The users on there were discussing a guy on Teen Mom and how his eyes looked crazy, like he was high on drugs, etc. They used the word "vacant" to d... |

These people weren't even on the same LEVEL as me. Did they even care? "Uh, I dunno, maybe respect is like, being nice to people?" It made my brain hurt. What are these people? Are they even real? I began to feel as though they were some sort of automatons, as if I was stuck in a video ga... |

I read through this thread but I'm still confused about the benefits of GABA. Does it basically increase productivity and decrease social anxiety? I was kinda bummed to read that it doesn't help with noise sensitivity. There is some quite recent research on one particular probiotic as an exceptional... |

I've attempted to analyze a few baby photos of myself. In most of them, I look worried/scared/uncomfortable. My eyebrows are scrunched up and I'm not smiling. In a few I actually look happy. One specific picture seems to be a professional type photo where you dress up the baby and have the baby sit ... |

No one knows what causes autism yet , but I agree with the scientists who think that bacteria in the human gut might cause it. I have come across studies about how those microorganisms can affect weight and depression. Idk nothing else seems as promising. |
