They know you're not wrong but right. They're just scared to death of anything or anyone that might cause the herd to be less tightly knit, so they destroy us.

My therapist insists the reason I don't fit in anywhere or with anyone is that I'm aggressive. I asked her once "Was Hitler less aggressive than me? Because he had many friends..." She rolled her eyes and didn't answer. Typical NT reaction to their shallow theories being questioned.

Do you tend not to be satisfied with the general opinion on something and dig deeper to find out your own opinions, by taking into account reality and putting two and two together with logic? Is this an aspie trait? I ask because I think this is what makes me most isolated from people. I'm constantl...

I identify very much with the OP. I won't add any more, so as not to get people down here.

The world is getting more and more phony and people are becoming less and less direct in their communication. I'm hardly perfect for this world.

Are aspies as socially competitive as NTs? Having as the highest value to strive for to have more money than anyone around them, and material comforts, fame, prestige, popularity, at the expense of genuinely caring relationships, enjoyable free time, a more leisurely pace in life, and intellectually...

Your mother doesn't turn a blind eye to it as you say. She does diagnose you, but with stupidity instead of AS. Reminds me of my mother. She was always more than willing to acknowledge all my "imperfections" and diagnose me, only her diagnoses were invariably blameful. Your mother acknowledges your ...

You are soooo right about each and every one of your points here.

I wish you'd told me all this 20 years ago. My life would've been completely different, not the hell it's been at work and socially.

So true! I was cruelly attacked by everyone on a regular (NT) forum, for saying I'd rather a person tell me the truth that they don't want to keep in touch with me than the "white lie" that they're "busy" and that I should try again another time. It's humiliating to me. But for them, it's humiliatin...

yes, same here. Especially when I see again and again the pattern that the only thing that's never forgiven is having said the truth and the pattern that 1 in a million people perhaps isn't totally happy in dellusion.

I was very proud of myself today at work, because I really managed to lie through my teeth, feign positive feelings towards an abuser (who is in a powerful position in relation to me) and take revenge in a passive-aggressive way that hurt her but she can't know for sure it was on purpose, so she can...

I see on this thread that almost everyone knows perfectly well what I'm talking about, and have come to my same conclusions about NTs in this regard. I always felt I was alone in seeing these things and not being blinded by the need to stick to the herd. I can't express in words how much better I fe...

People have always called me "aggressive" because I'm unable to master the socially acceptable passive-aggressive way of attacking, putting down, demeaning, etc. So they attack me with passive aggressive words and I retort with a direct comment. Then they call me aggressive, because mine (although n...

Vulcane, I've learned that in society it's not what you did but who you did it to. Chances are for some reason this person had an influence on your boss. You can get away with murder and you can be blamed for the most innocent act. It all depends WHO you are dealing with. Who as in who's who.
