I'm coming in on this a bit late, and I must admit I'd never heard claims of "global hum" before, and maybe this has already been discussed. But if there is a hum that people can hear, then it would be very easy to detect it using measuring instruments. Have such measurements been made, I ...

I got 24. I felt I was doing a lot of guessing. But also, the fact that there are only 4 possible answers for a given picture means that one can to some extent home in on an answer, at least for some of them, by a process of elimination. One does not have the luxury of such clues in real life! I fee...

I like my job very much, but I still dread the Monday morning feeling after the weekend, or going back after the Christmas break. I don't know how to explain that... that sounds like not the job itself but the things around the job such as having to get up at 0-dark-thirty and feeling liverish in t...

It is important to distinguish between Affective Empathy and Cognitive Empathy. Very roughly, Affective Empathy is the ability to respond with an appropriate emotion to another person's mental state. Cognitive Empathy is the ability to understand another person's mental state. It is often said that ...

I got 68/114. I think I was doing OK withe the earlier pictures in the test, mostly by focusing on the mouth shape. But the later ones defeated me completely. I was just guessing randomly for those.

I AM NOT ASKING abt number ratio Females:Males but I asking that if we take 2 persons one female and one male on the same level of sepectrum ...does in "general" the male shows more severe autism traits that the female one? Doesn't that depend a bit on how you decide whether the two are &...

I can't imagine scenes, tastes, or smell. I never really thought about touch. But I can, to a small extent, experience sound in my imagination. The experience is relatively faint, but noticeable. There is just one sound that I do experience in my imagination, but it is a rather irritating one; tinn...

I even finished my sentence at one point in spite of someone else talking over me who'd had more tha...

I think I have it, but adapted to the point where I can just remember vague details such as color or very extreme In one of the aphantasia tests that Prof. Zeman and his colleagues constructed, the lowest-scoring answer to the typical "How well can you visualise X in your mind's eye" kind...

The derailing of the thread shows that Aphantasia and a possible connection to ASD is inconsequential in most people's eyes . I do apologise if I contributed to the derailing. It's just that grammar is a bit of a special interest of mine, and sometimes I find it hard to remain silent... About the t...

I know this is going to be annoying because it's off topic. But my aspie mind just gets bothered by bad word usage. So here it goes. I get the point of the story, but you seem to be using the word "redundant" wrong. I suppose, to pursue the diversion a little further, one could debate abou...

Not a ham operator, because I would feel awkward talking into a microphone. But I do love to play around with old radio stuff, and the like. I have a couple of Collins radios, R390A and R388, among others. When I was growing up, decades ago, my bedroom was also a laboratory, where I fixed old radios...

I have aphantasia, and see no mental images. I was unaware of it until fairly recently, and for many decades I just assumed people were wildly exaggerating when they said they could see things in their mind's eye. In my case, at least, I never felt I was missing out on anything, and I suppose I just...
