When does the real me end and the fake me begins? That is the question. It sounds like you are grappling with some heavy stuff at the moment. I would say that forget about what is, 'fake', concentrate on what is real. The way you behave isn't necessarily real. The clothes you wear, the body you inh...

People actually hate on the Kinks? IMHO that is a true mental disorder.

I agree, think people can learn. But doing things to fit in is going to be more work than it is for NTs. And the outcome depends on not trying too hard, both because it is exhausting, and because it gives NTs the idea that that's your goal and you really care about fitting in. And some will be fine...

Hi, I can't say that I have ever noticed that people on the AS are hated by NT's. My observations however do indicate that many NT's fear us. They are afraid of what they don't understand. Perhaps; just as we struggle with the NT world, so NT's struggle with the AS world. The difference being that ...

Yes and Yes. For example let's say I am going to an interview. While it sounds simple it actually requires remembering to do a whole bunch of things. Layout dress clothes remember to bring this and that, remember to get directions, remember the time the interview is being held etc. I will go over an...

everyone has to act, it's part of fitting into society. Obviously ASDs find it harder but they only danger is getting to the point where you are completely believing your own BS. Now, that's bad and it's specially bad because you don't know there is a problem because to you everything is fine. As l...

When this topic came up in another section a few days back and I mentioned that I had previously thought of bringing it up here. A poster said that is a good idea so here it is. Before I get started this is not another one of those I found out how to convert to an NT posts. I was and will always be ...

I know that I will never grow out of it because it's hard-wired in my head. But recently I think I'm accepting myself and I'm starting to like myself better. It's not that I have given up but I think I'm actually actively liking the way I am. One of the consequences of that is that I have become ra...

Actually I like the music that influenced techno, synthpop. Late 1970s robotic Post Punk synthpop through the more poppy 80s Second British Invasion synthpop.

As far as actual techno I can listen to it and like it for a time.

I am not going to say you do or you don't. I will add to the above that one could be on the spectrum and have other issues. If it gets ruled out it is damm frustrating and depressing but you have to remember in research projects a lot of times things have to be ruled out in order to get to the truth.

Sometimes I slam something with my hand Too often I just hold it in. I am yes angry that society encourages people to express most emotions but looks down on this one which is just as normal as the others. As I get older I get angry less and less often. I hope whatever is making you angry gets resol...

Nobody knew about Aspergers when I was growing up. But when I was in my 20's I felt I had grown out of most of the problems I had as a teenager. But now I know it was a combination of coping well and certain segments of society bieng accepting of my interests. I was always will be an Aspie.
