Always wondered about people who program for social media sites. They are programme...

Do you mean when you and another person walk in front of each other, you are both trying to go around but you both keep going the same direction so it looks like you are both trying to keep each other from going by? That has happened to me too. I just stand still and let them by or move aside befor...

Glad you have seen the light and now can make better choices. Unbelievably bad management where executives see a good looking female and assumes that she would be good in a job dealing with the public. As for waitressing I am shocked that so many on the spectrum have had that job. I would be fired f...

Do it all the time because I am to focused on something else plus maybe a sensory issues . Also what happens a lot when I do see somebody that I am going to bump into I move aside, the other person in tying to avoid me moves in way that we are still on a collision course. And this can go on for 3 or...

I plan to be kinder to myself as a result of this diagnosis. Me too! :) Puzzles me why someone would say there aren't any upsides to late diagnosis. :D As they say when you have met one aspie you have met one aspie. Something I forget from time to time. While most people diagnosed later in life see...

By 'autism' I'm presuming they're meaning Asperger's syndrome. I think it's best to differentiate between the two, as even though asperger's is technically a form of autism, labeling oneself as autistic evokes generalizations about severity. I personally DIDN'T mean Asperger's syndrome, I got dx wi...

I usually withhold when I have no interest in the conversation or people. So when there is a conversation about something that does interest me it is like opening a lid on a high pressure valve I have trouble stopping even though I know I should. I am better now that I recognize the issue but it is ...

IMHO denying ones sex drive is as impossible and wrong as denying ones Autism. Both are important parts of who you are. You can suppress it for a period of time maybe a long period of time. And you have come up with some incredibly inventive and impressive ways of doing so. But as with autism when i...

Certain autistic people can learn to be social in the neurotypical way by learning about social skills by observation, reading about it etc. Autistics are acting the part. It is natural for the neurotypical. This powerful emotional video by a danish aspie really explains the concept. [youtube]http:/...

Well, the only thing holding you back is your self confidence, regardless of aspergers. +1 I struggle with confidence issues all the time. I am so aware of my shortcomings and deficiencies, and I often role-model people who are really accomplished and more talented than I am. I have to remind mysel...

Welcome and check out wrong planet's "In-Depth Adult Life Discussion" section. It is geared towered mature adults there. OnPorpoise wrote "I'm immature for my age, but not in the same ways younger Aspies are immature. It's hard to articulate." I feel the exact same way. "Wow! I haven't expressed the...

At this point, however, I am feeling more like a boat without a rudder. I realize it is the tendency to be over analytical. I *think* it is partly because I have nothing to focus on nothing to perserverate on at the moment. Hubby has said I have 2 speeds, 0 and 60. He is probably right....and right...

Once upon a time a bunch of baby boomer outcasts of various stripes and from various places of the world independently of each other (no internet then) got bored with what was going on be it post hippie hypocrisy or 20 minute drum solos, "soft" rock or disco and made music most of the music industry...
