I love your ideas, glider18 and have created a couple of sensory-type rooms outside in my yard. The first is a SheShed(I only use it in the summertime, but it's pretty special. Has books, sewing, a daybed, tub chair, cute cupboards, art on the wall. I basically converted an old shed into a little h...

skibum -- PTSD ... aghhh! I can relate to you, although I realize no two people experience it the same way. I feel like I have PTSD because of the extremely and difficult situations surrounding my parents' deaths in the recent past. I tried to get professional help for them, but I ended up taking ar...

That's true, but I am just saying for me if I were to post someone's comments to some other site, I personally would ask them first. That's just me. There were a couple members several years ago that wanted to post a couple things I had posted, and they had asked me if I minded. It's just a matter o...

Wikipedia defines a sensory room as: A sensory room is a special room designed to develop a person's sense, usually through special lighting, music, and objects. It can be used as a therapy for children with limited communication skills. Although sensory rooms for autistics seem to be often geared f...

Good ole Larry Hooper. I used to watch him on the Lawrence Welk Show and thought "what a voice" and "he seemed like such a nice guy." Good memories. I remember him singing "This Old House" on the show.

I'm thinking about how I should try and finish the short story I have been stuck on since I don't know when ... and the book of memoirs that I need to edit ... and the musical I have been working on ... and I feel too tired tonight to work on them. I'm thinking about the short work week I have due t...
