I do not understand why anyone is this way either. Self loathing is the most pathetic trait someone can have. There are things I'm not good at but I'm not going to let that get in my way. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses. Logically everyone should only want the best for themselves and be proud...

Only you know what is best for you. I can sense your manipulative tone, especially in the last sentence of your post. I know because my son does this often. It is not right to throw that "I thought you may be different" stuff at me. I am not an idealistic do gooder by any means, I unintentionally p...

Reading the recent posts on this thread elicits what I find to be a poignant observation: The worst enemies of capitalism are the capitalists themselves. Unlike socialism, which makes almost everybody poor, capitalism does have the power to lift all boats. The problem is with the greed of the elite...

Science can't take your "Aspie" identity away any more than it can force an "Aspie" identity on me.

If science proves seperating Aspergers from Autism was a mistake I will get rid of that identity.

That's your choice, and not something that would be required of you.

Of course

I had posted this in a different forum but someone suggested that I post it here because they thought I might be more replies. So that's what I'm doing. Hey, I was hoping that someone could help me make sense of how to best communicate certain things to others. I just got done having a conversation...

I am sorry if my motivational speeches bother you. You seem to be very opinionated about education and feel like a change needs to be made. What's stopping you from pushing that to happen? What have you done to help out a fellow aspie in life? Sorry, but your post felt like you were trying to motiv...

I have always been individualist and knew myself exceptionally well for not knowing what Aspergers is. Pursued computer programming, small companies, geeky music like Devo, listened to a radio station whose moniker was "Dare to Be Different" accepted and was contented with lack of relationships that...

Outside of support groups I have never talked to a person that I knew at the time or found at later was on the spectrum. After my diagnoses on 8/26 as I look back on my life there are a handful of people I was friendly with that I suspect were classically autistic and a couple of others aspie. I hav...
