I just can't understand him, and I don't understand what he wants from me. It's probably mutual. Maybe he wants to pursue a relationship with you, but doesn't know how, and is afraid to do something wrong and upset you. Keep in mind, he can't read body language very well (or at all), so if he makes... |

im NOT missing it at all, i'm pointing out the problem. you CANT fake around the body language. thats what makes everything a failure. we are aware of that body language, so what do we do? analyze it. why don't we just as well bring pen and papers? a little body-map, take notes as we see the signs ... |

i know theyre good advice, each one, per se, but like... all the above, is stuff i, for one, do on every unsuccessfull date, and ALL i do, i take mental notes "okay now she looked, 4.2 seconds, m-hm. ah! she moved, should i move closer?" etc while at parties, the few, i watch normal people. one sec... |

Are all intelligent men uninterested at best and intimidated at worst? Would you prefer (if you had your pick of the crop) to go for the less cerebral, non-bookish, conventionally feminine but slightly dithering every-girl. Intimidated because I'm interested, I think. When I notice that a girl is s... |

Sounds like Ron may have ADHD, and maybe sensory issues, both of which are more common in relatives of AS.
My sister has ADHD.
ADHD = distracted, poor short term memory, impulsive, hyperactive, ... (hyperactivity is like reverse motion sickness - you feel sick when staying still) |

You need only so much, and not more. Right, oxygen toxicity is possible at high pressures, which I guess hyperbaric oxygen treatment could produce if handled by "cure autism" fanatics. But you don't see anybody overdosing on sugar trying to get their brains to work better, do you? Right, all those ... |

Getting disability payments can be nice for those who have a hard time getting / keeping full time employment, removing some of the anxiety and desperation from the job search, and perhaps letting you pursue options such as increased education or starting a business. |

Google "gcse preparation", you'll find lots of resources.
There's probably books too.
The first thing you'd want to do, if it's like the SAT and GED, is try a sample test (many preparation books have them) to assess what your son knows already, what he needs help with, etc |

Brain needs oxygen. More oxygen = more thinking, ergo better able to cope with anything - from math tests to socializing. |

Also, some want to self-identify as AS because they don't fit in to society, and/or heard that AS means being highly intelligent and anti-social. 8O AS doesn't automatically make you a genius. Studies show that most of those on the spectrum have near-average IQs. If you're looking for an exclusive c... |

I don't have a problem with people self-diagnosing. Adult aspies will often self-diagnose long before getting an official diagnosis, even in cases where an official diagnosis actually helps in any way - and there's plenty of litestyle-related reasons for people not to get one. On the other hand, sel... |

Many years ago, I was in a choir and sang on TV, twice.
My voice changed but I can still hum almost anything I hear, or make it up as I go, and it's one of the few ways I'm able to share my emotions. |

Now now, there's no need to fight. Based on his previous posts I'd say Lonermutant is neither a troll nor a cyber-bully, just bitter and trying to spare your son the troubles he went through. What college calls "the arts" includes such things as economics, history, law, languages, writing, psycholog... |

I'm trying to write a story myself with apsie characters, and the characters are based on me and some of my friends but it's harder than I thought it was. I thought writing about aspies would be a walk in the park but I'm trying to show the traits in the characters subtly but without making them to... |

Reminds me a bit of the Fovean Chronicles.
It sounds like it could be good, but I find the satire kills it for me. I guess I'm more into plain ordinary scifi/fantasy epics. |

NVLD could explain the math difficulties...
Not college material? College isn't only science and engineering, there's also the arts and social sciences.
Not that there's anything wrong with practical work, but there's plenty of options that don't require a lot of math. |
