You are either NT that needs to work on social skills or you are ASD that was ASD since birth. Homeschooling cannot cause Autism; only brain-wiring can do that.

I understand people's concerns, but I must say that I am soooo glad my parents' do not see me in that negative a light. If they don't it must be because you're not creating a large liability for them, or they have the money/space/resources to accomodate you comfortably. If I had those I could be mo...

It does not have to mean you're depressed. Many people with autism also have alexithymia which makes it difficult or impossible to identify your own emotions as well as the emotions of others. On my diagnostic papers it says that the only emotion I can correctly identify is anger (and that's only wh...

Doctors are generally rough with me, especially because of my SPD issues (makes me probably a not very pleasant patient to have). Dental hygienists are also the same because of those issues (well most of them), but dentists in general are usually great. Probably because they don't do the cleaning an...

I am actually somewhere between 31-40. I have high-functioning classic autism, also anxiety (which doesn't impact me nearly as much) and depression (which has been under control for awhile now with medication) [1] Diagnosis group (as defined in the first paragraph of this post) see above [2] Age at ...

No. It's fun to keep the audience guessing what is "wrong" with him.

Besides...he thinks he's perfect...he is not going to go find out what it is "wrong" with him.

Yup, go outside of your doctor. I just went straight to a psychology clinic--my doctor knew nothing about what I was doing. I didn't feel I needed his permission to go for a diagnostic test.

I don't like other people touching my things. No I don't care what gender or race people are, nor do I care if the people are even related to me.

My son was also "unusual" from birth.

I think most or even all of us are, some are just not unusual enough for parents to pick up on it.

Basing it SOLELY on that list you provided, it doesn't really sound like asperger's to me. It doesn't mean it's not, though, as there could be more to the list going either way that you may not have thought to include. I know a lot of people separate the signs by gender, but I don't think this is al...

I’ve never understood how people say that they think in either pictures or words. If you think in words, do you see the word? IMO, this would still be thinking in pictures at least in a sense because you are still seeing something. All the people I know who think in words (pretty much my entire fam...
