going to be hard to keep eye contact. I don't want to look like I'm staring. If you are awkward and/or uncomfortable with eye contact, look at their mouth or their forehead. That way it LOOKS like your doing eye contact, even though you're not. I know it feels like staring, but they are also focuse... |

I don't know where I fit. I have been diagnosed with high-functioning classic autism, but according to your descriptions, I would not put myself in the HFA category. Maybe moderate autism to severe asperger's based on your descriptions.... |

I am currently studying to be a professor. That job sounds pretty good to me: I research my special interest all day long, and when I have to talk, I get paid to talk about my special interest. How can you go wrong with that? |

I have a pretty good idea, but I could be wrong, of course. It is probably because of my atrocious social skills. I am awkward to be around, so people frequently avoid me. I am assuming that is why. I didn't know this until people began to point out how weird I was though. |

I live on my own; however, I do need support. I cannot currently maintain employment (most of my money right now is in the form of student loans and bursaries). I also need some help with daily life. Aspergers presents itself differently for different people of either gender. I don't like the "girls are different" on the spectrum theory. I am a girl, and I have the so-called masculine autism traits. I think it is just a matter of everyone being individuals. Btw, when I was 3, I was obsessed with... |

This probably isn't going to be too helpful, but just a bit from my own experience: I was very difficult to teach how to drive. I meltdown easily, don't understand too many directions at once, have difficulty multi-tasking, etc. I definitely was trying my father's patience (and my Mom wouldn't even ... |
