I have seen in the paper that some churches in my area have special services for families with special needs children. Maybe there's one in your area, or perhaps suggesting that sometimes the service in your church be more wiggly, squirmy, squeeky child friendly? If there's more than one service on ...

I was 46 when I was formally diagnosed as AS. Forty years ago, I was tentatively diagnosed with "childhood schizophrenia," though my parents put a stop to the school district doing any more testing on me.

Kirska, I've run into the same thing. I've dated guys who wanted to play boyfriend/girlfriend, and suddenly were asking if I'd do their laundry, or start acting weird in a protective or dominant way. When I stood my ground, or enforced boundaries around my time (I was not going to put up with calls ...

You're lucky. I once almost got my balls cut off in a pneumatic tire changing machine but that's a story for another time. Holy crud, Gary...I bet you thought about wearing a cup after that. Aeroz, go to Wiki, or something, and look up Testicular Self Exam, and then follow the directions. That will...

That's your life choice. I'm a libertarian and I fully support people's rights to live their lives as they choose provided that in doing so, they don't infringe someone else's right to do the same. However, this culture that exists in many Western countries about chav Vicky Pollard characters delib...

I ask again: to those parents of AS children, how many of you were punching the air in delight on knowing your 2 year old child is AS? Knowing your child may lead a life of social disability, depression, stims (from awkward, to life threating chasing-lines-whilst-crossing-the-road), and possible me...

Hi, D, I have PCOS, and I had blood tests for several things, esp. hormones and blood sugars, and I had a couple of pelvic ultrasounds. I was on metformin like Lionesss as well, and had to have a couple of procedures to deal with cysts that didn't resolve. My periods were a misery, and could be very...

If I hear one more person use the term "evolutionary advantage," I'm going to scream. Who knows what conveys evolutionary advantage. It could be anything. We all wander around with things in ourselves that don't exactly help us with "survival," but we survive. As Gary said, everyone has problems. Th...

I don't know why there couldn't be a men's discussion, if the questions were also about men's health and social issues, etc., and not just wondering if their penises were big enough, and polls about what size women's breast should be. Or heck, even if it was just those kinds of questions. I think Al...

Roman, I'm not sure what you're asking. Your girlfriend needs to see a doctor and get the treatment she needs. Birth control is not the only thing that will help, and as far as I know, there are no conflicts with the Catholic Church on any treatments for PCOS. That website you linked is a very good ...

I'm more inclined to think along the lines of another poster: this was AS miscommunications. When were you diagnosed with AS? That alone would change a therapist's way of communicating with you if s/he knows that because of your autistic symptoms that you're going to answer quite differently than a ...

I really relate to what everyone has posted so far in this thread. I feel like I finally became an adult in my early forties, and I'm just learning to deal with social situations in an effective manner. The thought that a more nurturing family life would have perhaps helped with my autistic symptoms...

I have never known vegetarians to smell better than carnivores...usually they smell like beans and garlic...and to be honest, I never noticed their semen tasting any less...well, unappealing than any one else's... And until there's a magic pill, one trick to try is to use a condom, esp. one flavored...
