The bipolar person who I was just dating said that to me first and I was thrilled. I told him later that I loved him (or thought I did). Then he broke up with me over the phone after telling me the night before that I might be The One. We said it way too early and it blew up in our faces.

We are officially done. We kinda sorted out our differences after that roller-coaster weekend.
But this weekend wasn't much better and I can't deal with his illness and how it makes him if he goes off it. It will only be a matter of time until he ends up in the hospital again.

I have been doing a lot of reflecting the last two days and have realized that I deserve more. I cannot be responsible for him taking his meds and paying his bills...he has to do that. I spent a lot of money on him on the weekend because he is broke and won't be paid until Friday, so that tells me a...

I just found out the hard way that being with a bipolar person is a mistake. He decided to just up and quit taking his lithium medication. His moods were all over the map this weekend and I could barely handle it. He decided to just cut back his meds without a doctor's permission and now he's not ta...

My boyfriend thinks that we are a good match and we're hanging on the weekends and talking on the phone everyday. We also understand each other and like each other a lot so things are good but I do worry about the future for us.

I have started dating someone that is bipolar and needs lithium to keep his moods under control. We have shared our disorders with each other right off the bat (I find if I do that, he can understand my disorder and all its little quirks and awkwardness) and we are pretty close as of right now. The ...

The ones I played were Duck Hunt and Mario Bros almost 20 years ago and I won't forget how obsessed I was with especially Mario Bros. The Zelda obsession started about a year later.

I am in my first year of teaching Elementary music grades K-6 and it has been going fine thus far. The challenges at least to me has been the classroom management, I get overwhelmed sometimes when a group of kids acts up simultaneously. I don't know if that's an aspie trait or if other teachers feel...

I remember the time I met someone and we got to know each other that week by hanging out every day. I invited him over to my house and we ended up starting to kiss and after the second kiss he said "I think I love you." It absolutely frightened me and I thought about just pulling the plug but gave h...

I knew I had the condition since I was 11 years old and my family was always trying to change me and my ways. I cannot change my behaviors because of how I am wired. I think there are definite advantages to the condition, such as my single-mindedness when trying to solve a situation, my precocious m...

I did a middle school placement last fall and it was brutal at times. The Grade 6 classes were okay but the Grade 8 classes were brutal. 13 year olds are no match for me. At first, grade 6 was tough but one day I put my foot down hard and they respected me for the rest of the placement. I'd prefer t...

I am going into the teaching profession and I am absolutely not going to mention it since being a teacher requires good social skills. That would hamper my chances of getting a job and keeping it because maybe the principal/administration would discriminate against me for having some wonky social sk...

I'm a person who has had a lot of different jobs over the years, selecting from fast-food, supermarket jobs, packaging at a hog processing plant, bartender, flagging on the highway, working on a pipeline with a bunch of men, inbound and outbound telemarketing, piano teacher, being a server, and teac...

I am teaching Elementary school, but I don't want to go much higher than about Grade 6 because they'll start noticing little quirks about me and take advantage of it. I'm doing a 3/4 class right now and didn't have the best day today, but there IS always tomorrow. The kids like me, but they are test...

I am in the Education early years program here in Canada and I've been asking myself if I would make a good teacher with my aspie's condition. The biggest question I'd have is would kids know that something is off about me or would they accept differences better?

Hello, I heard about this site from the Dr. Phil show and decided to check it out. It looks really cool and it's great to see that there ARE people like me in this world (aspies, that is). Feel free to drop me a line.
