I was raised in a city of 40,000 people in Indiana. My high school had useful things like fully equipped labs, a large vocational program, a large library, and offered five foreign languages. We even had a planetarium. Overall, I received a decent education, and it was mostly free. We paid textbook ...

I agree. It's rubbish. Atheists have no longing for any gods. The dirty sinner label is simply silly. Gods are nothing but human constructs. Christianity is losing over 200,000 members EVERY FREAKING YEAR!

It's interesting this happened in a high school. In elementary school we stood for the pledge and the national anthem. However, in junior high and high school we never did this because the pledge was never done anymore.

I know what you mean. For me church was a trying experience. Methodists are an unusually chatty bunch. I'm not. The amount of stimuli present during church left me drained and so tired. It usually took me two to three days to recover from two hours of church. I could listen to a sermon and not under...

I am curious. Do you think that religious beliefs help you with your Aspergers? Do you think nonbelief helps you? I'm not focusing on Christianity. Whatever your religious beliefs, do you think it helps?

I was diagnosed in my mid-40s. My wife gave me the AQ test. I later received a formal diagnosis. I also never thought I belonged on this planet. I would be more at home on Vulcan.

We here in Hoosierland (Indiana) recently emerged from the coldest, snowiest winter in years. I burned over a cord of wood trying to keep the house somewhat warm. My snow shovel and I were not on speaking terms by February. Even the spring is cooler. Leaves are yet to emerge on the trees. The thermo...

I don't particularly like crowds because I can't filter all the noise. The noise is just a barrage. I only describe it as loud static on a radio. Even when I was stationed in Germany, I sought the quietest restaurants and pubs. I knew then what I could and couldn't handle. This was years before AS w...

Flood waters covered the highest mountains? Does that include Mt. Everest? Let's see. Everest is 29,029 ft above sea level. Climbers of the mountain routinely use supplemental oxygen, and the cold is intense. Pleural edema is a serious risk. Are you seriously suggesting the the Ark floated above 29,...

The world isn't as terrible as many Christians think it is. In many ways it has improved. Lifespans have increased. Our children in America no longer die of smallpox, diphtheria, polio, or measles. Medical knowledge doubles every five years. Other parts of the world are thriving such as China. China...

I agree. I believe that Russian resentment of the West is more about internal politics than engaging in fights with the West. I have read that Russia really is a nation in decline. They are facing a remarkable decline in population as death rates exceed birth rates. The average life expectancy of a ...

I cannot be angry with a deity that doesn't exist. I may as well be angry with Zeus, Odin, sprites, and banshees. I don't profess any "faith" or religion.

I voted for President Obama twice. I am generally satisfied with him. He is intelligent, articulate and honest. I may add that I voted for President Bush both times. I don't identify as either conservative or liberal. I do my own thinking and am not swayed by the opinions of others. I always remembe...

I was 46 when I was formally diagnosed. I am now 49. As a child I knew that I was different from the other children, but I didn't know why. I knew that I was either ignored or bullied. I usually could only handle having one friend at a time. In high school I probably had the emotional maturity of a ...
