So I won't have any friends in adulthood? That scares me... o.o I have friends, however; I must admit I had to work very hard to respond in relationships and I always tend to be comfortable with the oddballs in the group. I don't mind, since I am a bit odd myself. The hazard for me, and I thi...

This is just an update to my previous post. I just think about the family who let their boy walk to the store because they thought he was in a safe community.

[ My roomate is always pissed about it because if i am right handed how could I not know! Plus sometimes when i am told to get something "up there" or "down here" I look the opposite direction and make my way to the specified area. It drives everyone crazy. I HAVE to try the ring thing. BTW, what i...

Seems like you're an avid writer when it comes to this topic. Why don't you write a book, get it published, then send your mom a copy ? Maybe she'll begin to understand her role in all this. Narcissists do not want to understand their role, or become a better person. They just want their way, lots ...

nat4200 and jtuk have important points The is a big difference between being friendly at work and being "friends". Being friendly at work means having enough friendly interactions to make the work day pleasant and relations smoother. Sort of like being nice to your mechanic or the shoe salesperson. ...

....that happened to me in real life that sadly enough made me make this thread. I just want to point out that it is silly to keep thinking about yourself that you are inferior towards other people, even when you have aspergers. The only person that you damage with that is yourself. Yeah, people ar...

Liking solitude and your own company is one thing. Why not enjoy the life you have, right? But your post seems to more be about leveling. Leveling is a rationalization where we say to ourselves, "we are not so bad because they are worse." Then you go on to cite loads of examples of stories from the ...

At this she cried all the harder, but it was different in tone and I recognized that difference in tone , as one of a heartening tone and she then said thank you. She was glad though still trodden down. I felt her pain all the way through me as though I were here, and the change for the better--- r...

Hate it. Today I made my young son some hot cereal, which he ate with no "eating noises". I gave a bowl to my husband who for an unfathomable reason will not eat anything with a spoon without slurping. EEEK. After scores of requests to stop slurping (and a few fights) he continues. He professes that...

I love that chart and Sheldon.

Do you think all the Big Bang theory guys have aspie-traits? Now that I have been studying about it I see how Raj has (evolving) selective mutism and Wolowitz is overcompensates for his lack of skills to appropriately approach a female.

What do you think?

Emos hate themselves, hipsters pride themselves on doing things before they were cool and not conforming top the norm, i.e. mustaches, leg tattoos on show, backpacks, hardcore. They all look similar, which is where the irony lies. I love that video! I was looking for it, because my son was asking w...

I get the aura. When I was younger I would just get the blind splotches. Drove me crazy, especially while at school or when I needed to read. I cannot read while having the aura and driving would be life-threatening. While I was still in college (and did not know the word migraine) I would power-down...

I do not have all the stats. But this is why "shoot when threatened" laws are just scary. Putting the shooter in jail won't get the mother her child back.
